I think I agree with you here. Thomas' top end speed is not what makes him special. His acceleration and ability to make cuts at top speed are what is incredible to me. Those traits are what make him such an exciting player.

He is definitely very quick, but lacks in top end speed

That is a bit of a stretch. The guy ran an electronically timed 10.31 in the 100m at a track event this spring—he would have finished sixth at the NCAA National Championship last year running that time. Also ran a 21.03 in the 200m, and is the anchor of Oregon's 4x100 team.

I can agree there maybe are 5-8 guys in college football faster than him, and if those guys are the only ones with "top end speed," then perhaps I am mistaken in how I understand it. I thought the term was more broadly applied.

I know it's KState, but this looks pretty damn fast.

Comparably lacks top end speed.......probably should have been more specific. There are 11 active college players I think that are "faster".....but this is football, not track, and his quickness is incontestable IMO......but definitely not "the fastest man alive"

Colt Lyerla best TE in the nation right now? Who are you kidding. Every expert says it's the kid from U-Dub... Pfft. Lyerla isn't even the best in the conference. That title goes to Austin Seferian Jenkins a future 1st rounder out of Washington...

I doubt it but then again, Oregon doesn't really have much history and just became nationally relevant in the past decade.

Losing their head coach will hurt them the most.

That return video was awesome. Dude is fast.
