I feel like if your O-line doesn't show up then there's no shot. Fournette will keep you in games because he's THAT much of a great talent but even the great RBs need something resembling an o-line in front of him. If this is the kind of football that LSU puts out all year long than the Les Miles Era is going to end.

Anywho, looking forward to watching my Irish tonight. I'm not the biggest fan of the alternating QB system as it hardly ever works and then there's the disciplinary problems off the field. I think in a lot of ways this is going to be Brian Kelly's toughest coaching job at least coming out of the gate. Notre Dame has the talent to be a Top Ten team but some of the outside forces are making it tougher than it needs to be.

Re: Week One Discussion

At some point we just need to realize that LSU may not be as good as their talent says they should be. I know everyone was high on them last year, but in hindsight they didn't really have a single impressive win.

Coming into this year it's easy to say they have everyone coming back, one year older, etc, but after the egg they laid yesterday I'm starting to lean towards the they aren't as good as we think they should be.

Still holding onto that they are but just get consistent ****ty effort from whoever the QB is. The RB is good, they somehow always have WRs that make it to the league, and the defense is always good. The problem is between Les and Cam meaning it's ultimately on Les.

Re: Week One Discussion

I still don't understand why Les at LSU either can't recruit good QBs (aside from Mettenberger and maybe a couple others) or can't develop them, but I've been saying this for several years now. Quite a sad state of affairs, really.

Greg McElroy made a good point about the LSU WRs via Wisconsin's DB coach Jim Leonhard. LSU has big WRs but they don't make use of their size and play "small" rather than taking advantage of their natural gifts. Some of that has to go to coaching right?

Pretty much all of their problems comes down to coaching.

Should this guy be allowed to play another game in an LSU uniform?

Yes he should, but he should also be suspended at least 2 games.
