WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PS3!?!?!

I was just on the phone with Sony and the woman said I can't send it in for repair because it's a Japanese model. ****

Apparently it's a heat issue. I think my problem was that I kept the ps3 on top of a cardboard box which may have caused damage some place. It wasn't a rug, though, so I'm still not positive if that was an issue. Grrr this sucks.

Yeah, call back, Sony is hit and miss with their returns. Mine required a receipt to be fixed in warranty, but my buddy didn't have to show anything.

If it's out of a year though, it doesn't matter anyway, you'll have to pay.

I don't get why they won't fix a Japanese model, is there some rule you can't have one in the US or something? LOL

EDIT - I noticed it's a 40GB, that's the problem child. A few OS'ers have had those die, I know Psyblast's died not too long ago as well. They did something cheap with them.

holy ****....i think i fixed it..

i unplugged everything, put the ps3 in my hands and shook it for 2 seconds. i turned it back on and now im in business.

i'm still alive guys!

That still doesn't sound good Moses. I would still look into having them fix it for free if you can.

I'd still have it fixed as well. Sounds like you rebooted it, maybe it'll work a day, a few weeks, or could die again tonight. Better off to get it fixed IMO.

I'm still trying to get it fixed, but so far the only way is not free.
