Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I only buy games that I know I'm going to play but I do have issues sometimes with playing older games rather than the new one's. I just started going through Mass Effect for the millionth time even though I love Borderlands and haven't finished it yet.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

Isn't it kind of strange how you just don't want to play a game as much if it's a year old? I mean it's the same exact game it was the day you bought it but yet if a game is "old" you view it as less worthwhile of even playing. I don't know how many times I've just about to go play a game and then I hear the new one is coming out and I say to myself, well i'll just get the new one, it's only xxx months away.

Just like Assassin's Creed, i got that used on Craigslist for a controller and only booted it once, then something came up and I didn't have time to play. Normally i'd just give it to my nephew and go by AC 2 but i'm not going to this time because i'm more aware of this nonsense now.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I've got unfinished...

Tekken 6
Dragon Age
DiRT 2 (almost done)
Live 10 (not that it'll be really done until the real season is over)
Magna Carta 2
Borderlands
Fuel
skate.2 (technically,finished it on PS3,never finished it when I re-bought it on 360)
Saint's Row 2 (same deal as skate.)
Bigs 2 (technically, finished the legend mode thing, saving the regular season for when next season starts)
Stoked
Wheelman
Blitz II
NFS Most Wanted
DOAX 2
Bulletwitch
Lost Odyessy
99 Nights
Overlord
The Club
PGR 4 (finished the main mode, didn't finish the DLC)
Last Remnant
Crash Time
Import Tuner Challenge
EDF 2017
and still have to play through Mass Effect again to do a carry over run though I've finished it twice already.

Forgot about Battle Fantasia. That wasn't even playable with the regular controller,I got Tekken 6 with the fightstick but I haven't tried since getting it.

I'm also buying AC II tomorrow and might end up buying PES 2010 too.

Heh, I like how you have just decided to succumb to your animal instinct. Not trying to fight it even. I like that.

Have money, will spend. Not much point in having it if you don't spend it.

Yeah I agree man. And I know some folks say such and such is wasting your money but then I don't want to be one of those guys who saves all of his life every penny then gets hit by a bus and it all goes to his estranged family, LOL.

With that being said, i really do get tired of feeling guilty for over-extending myself. I have even though of coming up with a schedule and penciling in different games at certain times but then that sounds like i'm slipping into the crawlspace of outright insanity.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I was doing well, only buying what I had time for, until the Best Buy and amazon sales hit at the same time as a flood of great new releases - the perfect storm.
Ended up with Flashpoint, Borderlands, NBA 2K10, Forza3, Fable2 and MW2 within a few weeks!

NBA and Fable I put aside for my birthday next month. Hopefully have Borderlands story done by then. MW2 is first for online play, can catch up to the campaign later. Then mixing in Madden (online franchise) NHL 10 (OTP) and Forza3.

No more game buying for me until ME2.
