PS4 Standby or Power Off?

It's really not that much in the grand scheme. I'm not sure what they consider the "lifetime of the console" but even if it's only 5 years, that's $36 a year for XBOne, and $27 a year for PS4. Now, I turn mine off unless I need to charge my controller, and I would even unplug my old PS3 from the wall, but it's more of an OCD thing that I can't even really explain why I feel better because of it.

Somebody must be paying a TON of money for electricity. Around here, PS4 on standby 24/7 will cost me $5.66 a year. By their numbers the lifetime of my PS4 will be 23 years. In a five year lifetime my PS4 will cost me $28.

By their numbers, a five year lifespan you would have to be paying $.38 per kWh, here it's $.08.
