.
I said it last year when you posted this...but I would LOVE this.

Have different themes:

Play the East teams; start vs Baltimore on Veteran and work through the teams with increasing difficulties. Lose and start over. Each game victory yields rewards (with completion of that gauntlet being a mode-exclusive card). Gauntlets could also have event-style lineup restrictions and so on....

they had something similar in a program in 17 where you had to defeat every team from rookie to I think all star. 30 x 3 = 90 games and it was the most fun i had w/ mlb the show offline DD. They haven't brought this back and probably will never. a shame.

Honestly if they just bring back offline stat grinds in programs there would be no shortage of offline content.

I think I played maybe 20 games online across all modes in The Show 18 despite playing pretty much constantly. I was just doing grinds against the CPU and honestly it was a lot of fun! I think they've found a better balance for achieving rewards (the exchanges in 18 were insane and made a lot of the programs prohibitive), too. They should just made the online stat grinds available to offline players.

It would be perfect, especially since the single game stat achievements in 18 were the most annoying part and they refined those into moments.

I'd love for the stat grinds to come back to offline. I DO think that they would need to be conditional (i.e. in games played on All Star and above) just to keep the online kiddies from doing them on rookie...because they'll do anything to gain an edge and would exploit them.

I also wish that we could designate the prestige cards as "offline only" - unlocking missions to offline modes as well. I wouldn't mind grinding some prestige guys just for kicks....the slight ratings bumps aren't that big of a deal to me.

It would also be nice if the "Extra Innings" could count towards team affinity innings. I understand why they don't allow people to use them for stat accrual (they can be (and have been) manipulated). But innings are innings....it would be fun to play against other legends in the game.

So what is the point of Extra Innings?

I'm convinced it's only there to piss people off that don't realize it doesn't count towards anything.

It used to count towards stat grinds. People abused it to get easy stats so they removed that option but left the play mode in there.

But I agree, an inning is an inning. I think Affinity points should count that mode.
