Especially since again this used to not be an issue. They've had the proper functionality before and removed it for no reason. This hopefully gets patched along with the 3-3-5 glitch

Re: EA CFB 25 Custom Playbook Thread

I'm first going to echo the frustrations of many in here in the inability to organize formations and plays. To not beat a dead horse on that topic though, thought I'd share how I am setting up my offensive playbook.

My goal is to use as many different formations as I can (I believe is 50) but have only 4-5 plays in each formation. Each formation will have 1 or 2 "go to" plays that I like to run. The other 2-4 plays in the formation will then be audibles I can go to if the defense comes out in a look that may be tough against my "go to" play.

For example my "go to" play out of Gun Double Y off Weak might be RPO Alert Bubble (it's a split inside zone run with backside bubble alert). My audibles then might be Counter Y which I could switch to if I don't like the inside zone against the way their D-line lined up, a deep pass like 4-Verticals if they're in cover-0 or something like that, and a quick pass like slants or stick if they're playing off coverage.

I should end up with up to 50-75 "go to" plays (50 formations with 1-2 "go-to" plays each) then audibles for each of those plays as needed depending on the defense.

Is there a workaround or does anyone have advice if you are *still* unable to download any custom playbooks?

Thanks

I've organized my playbook in the same way. I like that it should make it harder to predict what play I'm running. I might run mesh or power 5 times in a game, but its always going to come from a different look. If you can be disciplined enough to not run the same play twice, I think it can be effective.

The downside is that its hard to put in subs or sub packages because there are just so many formations and none of it saves beyond the game.

Same question for me. Wanting to download the Dan Casey playbook and nothing happens. Also, do playbooks work in offline dynasty?

Re: EA CFB 25 Custom Playbook Thread

I’ve got about 10 playbooks planned out, with 5 completed. I’ll write a more detailed post for each playbook. I try to limit my system playbooks below to 15-18 formations, with no more than 250 plays. Ideally below 200 which some are.

1. Spread Triple Option. Go go, split, pistol with a second back. All revolves around the triple
2. Harding Triple Option. I call it Harding because that’s who I’m gonna use it with, but it’s just your standard triple option flexbone stuff.
3. Ground and Pound. I, Power I, Offset I. All the classics. I’m having a TON of fun with this current. Power power power and throw a boot every once in a while.
4. Motion Heavy. This game added a ton of new plays with pre snap motion and this playbook utilizes them.
5. Power Pistol. All the pistol/shot gun formations with the wing/FB there. Focuses on downhill running.
6. Empty Raid. Air raid meets all empty. I’ll have 1-2 formations with a RB to run the clock, hit the primary focus here is empty formations.
7. Heavy Bunch. Focuses on the bunch formations in pistol, ace, gun and extending the LOS to create more holes
8. The Spreadbone. Shotgun flexbone and anything similar like the full house.
9. My playbook that I’ll run. This is too much to go into here lol.
10. Defense playbook that I’ll run. Again, too much to go into.

I’ve got 1-4 made, and 9. Working hard on the rest.

Honestly I think his will be the gimmicky stuff and cheese. Don’t get me wrong, I love his stuff in real life, but I think his playbook will have cheese, not be super well thought out (because he put it out so quickly), and not really have a theme.

His real life stuff is awesome though. As a football coach I’ve bought plenty from him.
