It’s a solid game that is pretty barebones, but the presentation around it is pretty solid. Gameplay is definitely like a more wide open Madden. It’s still Madden at its core, but feels different because of the different play styles from each team.

I also personally think Madden this year was actually better than CFB at the actually gameplay related stuff (I say this as someone that has skipped Madden the last few years until it was free on EA Play), but I don’t know that others here would agree.

CFB is def worth the trial though. I enjoyed it for the first month or two when it came out. Don’t play as much these days but pop on every now and then to continue my dynasty. Hoping next year will be a much deeper game though otherwise it gets boring pretty fast.

not sure about uniform changes/edits
for new items: so far only found what DonkeyJote listed on first page
Kent State - "White 2" pants (same as the other White pants, but no text)
Utah State - "White-Black" helmet, Black jersey/pants/socks

When I read this I thought of Madden 06 on Xbox 360 and shuddered. Now THAT was a bare bones game (and terrible).

Yes in many ways. Gameplay is far more diverse, unpredictable and fun. You have over 112 teams (I think that’s the number). The presentation is ALIVE. The college atmosphere is fantastic.

Is the game perfect? Absolutely not. But for the first time back in over a decade they did a phenomenal job capturing the college game.

They definitely need to improve the dynasty hub, add back true formation subs being able to be set pre game in your dynasty hub (and I am sure they will). Add back mass subs in a more refined way (true 2nd team or first team nit just random).

But man…..I have played over 500 hours and am on my same dynasty file heading into year 8 and it’s so much fun. Recruiting is a blast and I use my own house rules because eventually you will get very good at it like any sports game that you go deep into roster management.

The other thing that I love is how smooth the running game is, how unique a lot of the teams are and the game is not easy.

Look the only way to judge….is dive in yourself.

It’s ok that there are folks who simply don’t like it. But Madden is truly dead to me with CFB 25 here. I barely touched Madden 25 in comparison and it’s not even close.

This is really one of the best sports game experiences I have ever had in my console gaming life.

The NCAA equivalent would be NCAA 07 on 360.

Terrible gameplay, zero player editing, only 1/2 the stadiums were real, then there was the gladiator player models.


Still, I played the heck out of it
