Recruiting strategies, tips, etc...

Im usually good at recruiting, since it is easy as hell, but im not sure what to do with inseason recruiting. What kind of guys do you usually target, and how many do you land? Of what caliber are they? Do you balance it out or throw a ton of % at some? Does it matter if they are pipeline, like will that make them like you more from the beginning?

And a regular recruiting Q, does it cost less to recruit pipeline guys, or do they jsut liek you more from the beginning?

Re: inseason recruiting questions

I used Nebraska, first year I went 6-5 and locked up 3 in-season guys. Second year I went 4-7 and locked up 2. I usually just give equal points out at the start, unless there is one guy I REALLY want and I will give him more.

Re: inseason recruiting questions

I just went through it and targetted any pipelined Old Spice recruits. Won't know if it works until the end of the season though I guess.

You must have a lot of pipelines...I had ZERO 5 stars on my list...I got a 4 star LT and a 3 star FS.

I'm playing with Auburn and I had a few top players in my pipeline. I think everyone that I targetted had at least a B as field awareness as well. This pipeline thing will be neat to see how it grows if you have a few good seasons. I think mine was covering AL, TN, and FL. I didn't see GA as a pipeline, but I probably just missed it since it is only 30 minutes from Auburn.

Re: inseason recruiting questions

basically the same for me. fill up scholarships with pipeline guys and go even with % for the first week or 2. after that i load up on the guys im already high on their list, unless theres a certain need i have in the coming season. has worked well so far.

simmed through 4 seasons with purdue and got 3-8 guys every year from in-season.
