If you notice, the disk isnt clicking or anything when you take the disk out and play it the next day. It is quiet and seems to be perfectly level with the tray and reading well. I think I may have something with the reader arm being off kilter and maybe hitting the disk.

I also noticed that when I exit to the dashboard now that I have been taking the disk out when turning the console off that my 360 doesn't make a crunching sound anymore. Definitely something to taking your disk out before you shut off.

How do you set the system to launch from the dashboard? I currently have mine setup so that when I power the system up it goes directly to the dashboard. However, once I eject the tray and insert a disk it immediately boots the disk once I close the trey.

The way you have it is how it needs to be and the only option. There is no way to avoid playing a game once you put it in the tray AFTER you're already at the dashboard.

my NCAA 2008 has died. i'm now getting the DDE error. it started after I finished my C-USA Championship game. im going to see if gamestop will swap out the disk for me.

How many DDE's have you gotten? I got my first one last night, so I am a little worried. I think I might getting this because of a over heating issue.

I finally got one too. It doesn't matter, I was up 45-7 in the National Championship game and it froze up.

This one is going back anyway...it's just not that great.

I used to get DDEs, but after turning off the commentary and stadium announcer, I haven't had any since.

I also like the game more with the commentary off, since the commentators tell you about the defensive shifts at the line and this makes you actually watch and read what the defense is doing a bit more.
