However, if by "fixing progression" they mean recruits overall value will stay the same but training results will be upped to create a better and more realistic progressin, then the change will take effect on current recruits so long as the offseason training results have not been passed.

Personally, I hope they keep recruits overall value at or near the current levels and boost the effects of training. Makes it more rare for a true freshman to play and puts more value on redshirting freshmen.
I disagree with this from the standpoint that (if you really think about it) players don't improve that much from their freshman to senior years.

What I mean is, if EA decides to leave recruit levels as they are and they only improve progression increments, then we will have guys that come in as 70's who could potentially reach the 90's. And that would be on average.

The biggest things that improve for players from freshman to senior years are strength, speed (slightly), and awareness/intelligence.

These improvements are minimal and make a big difference, but they don't warrant a player improving from a 70 to a 90 on average. Sure, it happens sometimes.

EA is capable of fixing this the right way, not just fixing it.

It's like training a dog. You have two options that would both work. Beat the dog senseless...or give it affection and rewards for doing the trained task. Both methods would accomplish the end "goal", but one of the options is much better and more realistic.

The more realistic or "right" way to fix "progression" is to improve the ratings of incoming recruits.

I really hope they don't bump up progression, and instead fix the real problems...

1. CPU not recruiting for positions they need, leading to walkons at starting positions.

2. Incoming recruits rated too low

3. Awareness of most incoming recruits is too low (or they could fix this one by having the awareness progress quite a bit more than the other attributes)

4. Players coming in with low attributes in areas they need (mainly the issue with WRs having no jukes, spins, etc.)

If they fix those things, dynasty might be playable again for me. I also hope they put in-season progression back into the game. I know some people have said they've seen it already, but I haven't seen it on a single player. That's not necessary, but it should be there anyways.

Would it be a reasonable idea to just bump the base progression of players (and recruits, too) and then make a progression difficulty? It just sort of struck me as an idea. -shrug-

I'm sure this has been covered already but, release date?

I think I just had an enlightening!!!!

The problem isn't with recruit ratings or the progressions itself....It has to do with RECRUITING LOGIC!

Now hear me out....People are complaining that some teams carry too many players at certain positions. For example, if USC steals 4 good QB's one year, then that means that 2-3 good quarterbacks aren't spread out amongst the other decent/midlevel teams. If these players choose not to transfer, then they get cut when the schools have to drop down to 70 players. This is where the good players get cut...and ELIMINATED from the game. And when USC goes to recruit the following season, the process repeats.

The Low-level teams such as Tulane and Tulsa can never compete because they are then forced to take WALK-ONS at NEED POSITIONS. These walk-ons are not in the recruit talent pool...They have 0 stars and begin with a 40-45 rating overall. This especially holds true with the kickers. I'm Penn State and I just go stuck with a 40 overall kicker because no kicker in the talent pool had me in their top 10. So that's why kickers are missing extra points.

I noticed after year 1 of my online dynasty that my actual recruits' rating were good. The awareness was okay. Some were good; some were bad. But I think of this as comparing to dumb players in real life....Someone might have all the talent in the world, but be dumb as hell.

IN SUMMARY, the CPU recruit logic is garbage and needs to change.

If you agree with me, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.

I haven' gotten into my dynasty yet so I can't speak in depth on it, but your theory may have some sound logic. It sounds like the same thing that has plagued Madden in the past when it came to the draft and free agency. You'd see a low level teams draft quarterbacks in th 1st round year after year and improbable players being released.

If that's the case then the fix may go beyond just a patch.

btw there is a precident for the dirty uniform bug. Madden 2009 had the same problem with field degradation that was also fixed via patch.

Is there any way we could lock this until the tuner is actually released? This all seems like drivel right now.
