Damn it. I guess I suck at reading. Yeah, he did say he only simulated the first season. My bad.

Well if he did lose to his rivals while playing the games in the later season, I guess it is somewhat his fault. But still, he wouldn't have been fired from a crappy program like Buffalo in real life after two 7-5 season with bowl berths.

Thats why people who are playing the game wish it was more realistic for teams they use.
Every team it seems has the same goals in the video game.
In real life every team does not have the same goals.
I think it should be different for every team where it is a by case by case and not by grouping all the teams together and giving them the same goals , same characteris, same playbooks , same recruits. etc.

Re: They Fired Me

Seems like they need to work on "120 ways to be fired" or NOT be fired next year huh

Re: They Fired Me

Most coaches get 4 years to get a football program going, unless they are clearly driving it into the ground or are at a school with a big time program that demands excellence.

For those that say he deserved to be fired, the game was stacked unfairly against him given that stupid 'Beat a 5 or 6 Star Program' goal. That goal is completely unrealistic. A more realistic goal would be to beat a Top 25 or Top 10 team, but even that wouldn't be realistic at all for a 2-star Buffalo program.

Realistic goals for any team below 4 stars would be:

1. Have a winning record.
2. Play in a bowl game.
3. Beat rival X.

As the team progresses to 4 stars and up, the goals should be increased to say, Win X number of games, Win (not just play in) a bowl game, beat a Top 25 or Top 10 team, win conference championship, etc.

Beating a 5 or 6-star team is so unrealistic for Buffalo that if they did it, not only would the coach not get fired, but they'd probably put up a statue of him outside the stadium.

Re: They Fired Me

When you start a horrible program, and you are improving, that should count for something. I'm playing as NMST and one of my goals was Beat Boise. C'mon - is that realistic? Another is Go to a Bowl Game. That one is barely realistic unless I fix up the sliders so I make myself win.

Many times the goals set for the one star program aren't likely until you can get your recruits in there and build depth. Unreasonable goals are often difficult to meet.

But those was his goals and he failed them. Beat rival SU was one of his goals each season and he lost all three games. Play in a bowl game was a goal two of the three years and he made that one once. Yes the beat a 5 or 6 star team was a reach but he didn't make his other goals either. Like I said in my last post I wonder if he would have beat his rival would things have been different. Also like another guy said after looking at it he wasn't actually fired. His contract ran out and they didn't give him a new one. That seems more fair and realistic than being fired.

Re: They Fired Me

You guys keep saying 1 star program.

Buffalo is a 2 star program. If they were a 1 star program goals would be have winning season and receive bowl bid.

Re: They Fired Me

I think the rival is the key here. I dont think that Buffalo's rivals are all that tough. I think its what Kent State and what Toledo? Not sure on the other but I know one is Kent. I know they are not that tough of a program to beat.
