Yeah, I'm from Illinois. We end up playing one of our rivals, Thornridge, last, which is where Iowa recruit Mikail McCall went.

Just had sort of a breakout game in game 2.

Score: Thornton 24, Urban Prep-South Shore 14.

Had 3 catches for 112 yards, including a 76 yard screen; 4 tackles (2 solo, 2 ast I believe). Broke 2 tackles but got chased down by a CB! All 3 of my catches were for big yards; the only thing I didn't like is that after making the first two catches of the game, I got subbed out, killing the momentum. This is where cheesing the no-huddle may come into play, even though we ran it in RL.

Ended up getting 46 points on O, and 40 on D.

Even as a DE it feels like the opposition avoids you far too often. Great that they're afraid of me, not great that I need to tackle ballcarriers on the other side of the field to have any chance to get above 1* DE level.

Defensive RTG camera still needs work, it's in way too close. To give an example, on one memorable play I was trying to play in a DE dropback zone. The QB rears back and throws one my direction, and I think he's throwing to a deep receiver so I start to drop back in anticipation of turning and chasing...at that moment a WR sprints in from off the left side of the screen into my zone, catches the ball right in front of me and starts to turn upfield. I had no idea he was even there because the camera was so engrossed in letting me see myself to give me a decent view of the field.

Speaking of views, the fields look really pretty, though I'm disappointed to see that player names on the back of jerseys are still laughably under-sized. Madden's jerseys look so realistic from the rear, so it's especially jarring to still see that super-skinny font on the back of my NCAA guys.

Aside from that, I think part of the problem with RTG stems from being awarded points based solely upon statistics. You should receive positive marks and gain experience for other reasons, including ability to cover your man, ability to stay in your zone, ability to read the play, and so forth. These more intangible skills need to boost your experience, so even if you only end up with zero or one tackle on defense, you are still rewarded for hard work in other areas of your game.

The same could be said on offense, and I think most notably as a QB in terms of reading your check-downs and overall awareness. But you should also get points for making the right plays at the right time, such as running out of bounds when you need to stop the clock, making blocks when you're not running, and so on.

The mode could really be excellent, but like Dynasty, it really needs to deepen with details. I hope EA gets to that in the next few cycles, but I'm not holding my breath.
I'm not either. I agree, as a safety, it's more of an intangibles-based position because you more than likely won't rack up stats unless you're the next Ed Reed. But I think holding a WR to zero catches, or locking up you're side of the field, etc. should be rewarded. I think that would be difficult for a game to determine, whether those things are actually happening, but you never know, maybe next gen?

I agree, though I will say the endzone text is very pixelated, depending on the length or the word(s). A five-letter word is very large and pixelated.

As for the camera, a similar play happened. I ran a go route with my WR and ended up beating the CB, safety nowhere in sight. The QB threw the ball, I saw the target location, I thought I was home free. The camera had other plans, as it wouldn't allow me to see the ball trajectory. Basically, I thought it was a lob, when it was in fact a sort of bullet, so I mistimed the button press. I will say, it seems like sometimes animations react late, especially catching, but other than that it's fun.

I think it does seem like the offense avoids you. Even as a dafety, I'd drop to the left half. The QB would throw to the other side. I say, ok, lets see what happens when I have to drop opposite field. Qb throws into coverage on the right side. I ended up dropping to the middle, and I tried to bait the QB into throwing what looked like a open post route in the endzone. The QB just threw into the flats.

Subbing is too frequent. After intercepting a pass in my 3rd game and taking it back fr a long gain, I wasn't even in on offense. I think lowering the fatigue may remedy this, as playing ironman may cause more fatigue throughout the game and cause frequent subbing.

RTG High School defense is useless. I play WR/DT and I never get a tackle, sack or anything.

Well maybe the problem is being a DT. Play safety, I already have 2 INTs through 3 games, and a handful of tackles. Just scored my first TD on offense.

Also understand that you're not, or shouldn't be in on EVERY play. Even Patrick Willis isn't making every tackle, just find ways to get to the ball. Pursue the ball on every play.

Playing offense will make you feel like this sometimes...
