Re: The Official How's Your Dynasty Going Thread NCAA 13

Arizona State, with new head coach Adam Thurley, were looking to start off the season on the right foot, by first travelling to scenic Hawaii to enjoy the islands before clobbering the Warriors in their first game of the season. While the first part of that may have happened, perhaps the scenery of the islands provided too much of a distraction for the players, as they came out flat, and wound up losing the game in overtime to the opposition.

"I think we might have bit off more than we could chew when scheduling our plan for the off time we would have on the islands," Thurley said in his post game interview, "maybe if we would've been more focused on the task [beating Hawaii] at hand instead off all the scenery that Hawaii has to offer, we might have came out a completely different team."

He continued on to say, "But give Hawaii credit, they were ready to play football after a long break. Coach Chow drew up the perfect game plan and his offense executed it to perfection. We are just going to have to get better."

The game came down to a 4th & 1 on Hawaii's 15 yard line. Senior RB Cameron Marshall knew he was going to be getting the football. "I was the reason our offense was having success. If I didn't move the ball well on first and second downs, Michael, our quarterback, wouldn't have time to throw it on third or make a good read on an option play and when you're a first year starting quarterback playing in a hostile environment, you need all the time and confidence in the world to execute the play." Execute is the opposite of what the Sun Devils did on the game deciding 4th & 1. The call was a draw play for Marshall out of a 4 WR set. If the defense would've bit on the dummy pass play, Marshall would have trotted right past the first down line and perhaps even into the end zone. The Warrior defense, however, wasn't taking the bait, as both MLB out of the Nickel set came running in to close the hole and tackled Marshall, ending the game and providing Hawaii with their first victory of the year, 34-27. Marshall finished with 120 yards on the ground on 27 attempts. He also found the end zone once.

Taylor Graham, quarterback for the Warriors, was named player of the game. He threw for 267 yards on 18 completed passes for 3 touchdowns.

Arizona State will travel back home to face the Fighting Illini of Illinois next Saturday. That game is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm (ET). TV coverage will be announced later in the week.

Re: The Official How's Your Dynasty Going Thread NCAA 13

Well I survived my regular season schedule to finish 12-0. Unfortunately I lost the NC game to South Carolina. However with my recruiting class, I am very excited for the years to come. Here's my 2014 schedule:
Week 1 - Bye
Week 2 - @ Navy
Week 3 - Purdue
Week 4 - @ 17 Michigan State
Week 5 - 15 Michigan
Week 6 - Bye
Week 7 - @ 22 Wake Forest
Week 8 - 7 Stanford
Week 9 - @ Texas A&M
Week 10 - BYU
Week 11 - Pittsburgh
Week 12 - @ Boston College
Week 13 - Army
Week 14 - @ USC
Week 15 - Bye

If I can survive the first half undefeated I see another 12-0 season, but I have 6 freshman starting this season so we'll see how they do.

Update on my season. down to the last game of the regular with a 8-3 record. Loss to Illinois and then shock Nebraska on the final play of the game, when Gray threw a passing TD with no time left on the clock. we won 16-13.

Re: The Official How's Your Dynasty Going Thread NCAA 13

I am debating on simming this season with Tulane. It is still very early in the season. But, I REALLY like the recruits I that I am at #1 for. And I overhyped the 90 Speed QB/ATH I had. Even though I only played 1 game against a good defense with him, his THA(85) I've seen some of his passes be off target.

I am #1 on the #1 QB with a good lead. His THA is already 95 and he has B speed. His THP is the same as the fast QB(85), but with his THA I can run a elite 0-20 yards passing game. I would/will start him day 1 and put the ATH QB in some Wildcat formations. I am also #1 for for the #1 SS. I dont have a need at the position, but he is almost the ideal SS for the way how I play defense. He has 90 Tackle, 91 Speed, and 75 Zone. At 70 Man cov, I cant leave him alone in coverage. I would also start him day one. I also am #1 for a WR with 97 speed. He would be the fastest WR I had since I began with Tulane(high of 93). I actually have a few good WR I am recruiting.

The main downfall of simming the season is I will/might lose players that I liked. I will lose 3 SR RBs that I like. Including one that was a ATH that now has 99 BRK(balanced RB) and another that has 99 speed(best Returner in the nation for the last few years), He has more Return Yards(3600) than the starter has career yards(3000+). I lose a Good DE. I lose 2 good LBs and 3 SR CBs. I might lose my JR WR Copeland(who was a +16 Gem and best Wr 1st 2 years), JR DT and JR OLB(good pass rusher and good in coverage). But I should be able to sign 2-3 good WRs, have good depth at DT and OLB.

I might do it. I just won champion. Even though I would lose a few good players, I should have a top-10 class. I am in the 1st year of a contract with a high Coach Prestige, so I can boost the security. With our team being A+, I should be able to win at least 9-10 games. I will sim the season, after I sign some of the recruits I am going after.

Early but if the season were to end today, I would know who would be in my Tulane Hall of Fame:
-QB from last year who graduated, who has 10000+ yards and 100+ TDs despite only starting 2 seasons.
-Both of my #1 and #2 SR RBs. My #1 should have over 4000 career yards and 40 TDs. My #2 RB should have over 5000 career Return yards. He was remarkable. I have a 97 Speed WR I might be able to sign that will replace him.
-My JR WR Copeland even if he leaves this year. He already won the Best WR in both his 1st 2 years. He should have close to 4000 career yards receiving and close to 50 career TDs after this season.
-MLB Fitch, CB Wright, SS House from last year- All 3 started every year and put up good stats.
-my JR OLB Woods and DT Powers, and SR DE Fitzpatrick both has a chance- Woods led the team with tackles his 1st 2 years. Powers didnt put up great stats yet, but did have a great impact. Fitzpatrick has put up consistent pressure every year so far.

just put a hurting on Stanford! Barkley bounced back nicely, the running game continues to be a force. I forced a lot of fumbles and turnovers that were deep into Stanford territory which is why the score is very lopsided.

Re: The Official How's Your Dynasty Going Thread NCAA 13

With one week left in year 1 of my dynasty, my USC team is 12-0 and ranked #3. #2 Texas is unbeaten and 11-0 with one game left against Kansas State. Meanwhile Georgia (12-0) took over the top spot from LSU (11-1) which lost to #4 Arkansas (11-1). The thing is Arkansas's only loss is to Tulsa (at home too!) so they did run the table in the SEC at 8-0.

I would be pretty disappointed if my USC team misses the title game. I have the likely Heisman winner in Robert Woods and I also boost the highest scoring offense in the country to go along with the #1 Rush defense and a top 50 pass defense.

Right now,
#1 [up from 2] Georgia (12-0, 8-0) SEC title game against Arkansas
#2 [up from 3] Texas (11-0, 8-0) game against Kansas State left
#3 [up from 4] USC (12-0, 9-0) Pac-12 title game against Oregon
#4 [up from 6] Arkansas (11-1, 8-0) SEC title game against Georgia
#5 [down from 1] LSU (11-1. 7-1)

I want to know what would happen in real life...I don't care what the game thinks. If Georgia wins who would they play in real life? What about Arkansas if they win considering they would have gone unbeaten in the SEC title game, where would they wind up? I just want to mimick real life the best that I can.

The winner of GA and ARK should be in regardless of who wins based on the strength of the SEC and for ARK they would hold wins over 2 No. 1's. If USC and TEX both win it would depend on the rankings of ORE and KSU as well as the overall strength of schedule.
