But a lot of people are sports buffs who are really into it. Then they have no idea how to play the game, but they know football and can easily identify when something's wrong in the game.

Are they casual too?

If they don't know how to play the game, how do they know when something is wrong with it?

Wrong from a football perspective. Like, for instance, if someone like Casey Hampton could outrun Pat White. That would be a problem to them.

These games look like real football. I see the point you guys are trying to make but it doesn't apply to everyone. I'm just as big a sports nut as anyone on this board, but I don't play these games and look for flaws like a lot of the people on here do.

Yeah sure, sometimes they're glaringly obvious but a lot of people purposely try and find things wrong. To the casual guys they don't notice any of this, they just play to win. They couldn't tell you who the starting QB for the Houston Texans is, but if they see a good rating in Madden, better believe they'll pick them.

It seems like you're ignoring my definition of casual gamer while trying to bring them on the same side of the hardcore gamer.

Okay of course that would be a problem. It has nothing to do with football. If there was any game where a 300 pound fat guy outran a skinny dude who looks like he could outrun Usain Bolt, would be a problem for anyone.

I see what you're trying to say, but that's not always entirely true.

To people who buy Madden as a game, and as a game purely, it wouldn't be a big deal to them because they could care less whether it is a realistic product.

But to someone who likes football, knows football, but just happens to be playing the game for the first time and expecting it to be realistic, it's a big problem.

Are both of those people casual gamers or no?
