I think that just helps choose who the captain would be but I don't think it affects anything to do with gameplay.

In my Dortmund career I've already sold Axel Witsel who has that trait. I am ready to give Gio Reyna the starting CAM role and considering allowing Reus to leave in the next window. A similar story with starting Zagadou at CB and letting Hummels move on.
I'd then use the added funds to find an upgrade to Delaney at CDM in the next summer transfer window. That would still leave me Emre Can as a starting CB with that trait but I would have sold or benched 4 other veterans with the leadership trait.

Thanks for the response. I assumed that was the case and can't find anything online that says differently, but could also see a scenario where having players with a leadership trait could boost other players development or team morale.

Presumably IRL, having leadership amongst your squad would keep the team focused during training, get the team in the proper mindset for a big game or keep them motivated when playing lesser competition. Just don't think FIFA does anything like that in the game.

Yeah i was thinking that'd be nice. Like having a leadership trait maybe raised awareness or positioning for that line. So if your CB has that trait your defense would get a boost. But if no one has the trait the defense is more likely to get disorganized.

Balanced everything. Only change was aggressive interceptions. I’ve messed with them all, still does the same thing; drops back and sits in front of the LB when not in possession.

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

Started mine with FC Cincinnati after getting it over the weekend... Won the preseason Champions Cup and so far playing well in the beginning of the MLS season... I am not a huge soccer fan, so just learning the game, middle setting is just a bit to easy for me, and I struggled on the 4 out of 5 setting, but had more fun with this setting as I lost, but I had to work for what I got also... FC Cincinnati isn't a great team, so I am going to leave it at this setting, take my lumps and get some wins where I can. This way it will be more fun and realistic... Still learning the transfer stuff (again, I know nothing about soccer), so once I get a hang of this, I am sure I will enjoy the career mode as I do in the NHL series...

Is anyone else worried about getting fired for renewing a large wage contract? Why hasn't this been fixed yet?

This video explains it and how to avoid getting fired: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d37QQ1eBEo

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

I'm in February of my first year at Dortmund and have really enjoyed this Career Mode so far.

I've stayed with a 3-at-the-back system that Dortmund typically uses. I base out of a 352 formation. I shifted one of the CDMs up to CM. I also changed one of the strikers to CF and set his instructions to False 9. I then have the wide mids instruction set to stay wide as they're the only width in my formation. All of the midfielders are set to come back on defense.
The 3 in the back helps me stay solid defensively, with the wide and central mids coming back to help.
The 3 center-mids and False-9 Center Forward give me 4 in the midfield to progress the ball through the center. Then if the opponent gets too narrow defensively I can use the wide-mids to break with pace down the outside.

The major transfer business I've done is is buying Denis Zakaria and putting him at left-center back. I also sold Axel Witsel and replaced him with Camavinga at center-mid. I'll also sell Delaney in the next summer window and use Camavinga & Bellingham as my center-mids of the future.

Currently sit 1 point behind Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga table. I finished 2nd in my Champions League group and beat Chelsea 3-0 in the first leg of our Round-of-16 tie.
