FIFA 13 - Youth Academy and Player Growth

Yeah, it's just random. I used it and got a Brazilian keeper who looks like he's going to be a STUD.

Alright guys, this has always been kicking me but it may just be me flipping out. When you start a manager career and you choose "current customized" squads instead of "default" or "download latest" has anyone thought that player growth stops or slows down? I don't edit players on the team I play in, but I do edit the player stats from other teams in the league just to make it more competitive, but I kept feeling that my player's growth slowed down big time, so I deleted that career and just started a new one with "download latest" squads. Was that just me or has anyone thought the same before?

I play with the 'Current Customized' squad option and have not noticed a slow in player growth.

Another thing, the first manager career I made I had 2 young 18 year old players already on the squad that were "showing great potential." By the end of the first season they had grew from 63 and 65 to 71 and 74. I ended up deleting that career since I didn't like where it was going anymore, and I restarted it again with everything the same. This time however, both of those players no longer had the status of "showing great potential" they were just regular youngsters now. I can't remember if I had updated the squads in between. Do the player statuses vary randomly with each career mode or could it have been that I probably updated the squads and that's what changed it? Anyone notice something like this before?

i have noticed they change from time to time. sometimes nothing one month, the next month they are showing great potential, then the next month it is different. I think it is all tied to how they are progressing at that very moment.

I hadn't noticed that it changes during the season... I noticed that it would change at the beginning though. For example at the start of my 3rd season my captain was going to retire. I turned off the game without saving, and the next time I started the 3rd season it no longer said he was retiring. I had already made plans for his retirement, so I just kept on quiting and reloading until his status said he was retiring at the end of the season.

Does anybody know if youth academy/scouted players ever physically grow in height and weight as they get older? I have a 14year old CB in my academy that is only 153cm (5'0") tall! I really hope that he isn't stuck at that height forever because that would make for a very challenged CB.
