Re: FIFA 13 - Youth Academy and Player Growth

I found a CB who came in as a 74 and is now pushing high 80's at 18 years old. So i think it is ridiculous to say CDM are a much better choice considering it is ALMOST completely random when your scouts find them

I think this contributes to why we are finding ridiculously tall and skillful players. Correct me if im wrong, but their height could be randomized then just mashed with random skill levels?
But then again it seems different with the CPU scouted players!

Re: FIFA 13 - Youth Academy and Player Growth

Could somebody please tell me which of the statuses in the Squad Report mean.

I'm presuming 'Has potential to be special' is the best and equates to about 88+

The ones I'm unsure on are 'An exciting prospect' and 'Showing great potential.'

If someone could clarify which one is better and what it equates to stats wise that would be awesome.

Thanks.

lol i agree, i found a 6'6 CB who has grown to have all light green physical stats. his accelleration and sprint are at 90. he is an absolute beast on corners.

Well, forgive the World of Warcraft parlance, but I do believe a nerf will be incoming. Players of that caliber are incredibly rare, like once in two generations and never 6'6" or 6'8". LeBron James becomes a basketball player, whether he's born in the Congo, Brazil, or Canada. He doesn't become the world's most overpowering CDM, lol.

Anyhow, I think I'm seeing somewhere in the neighborhood of a 400% increase in development speed over last year. In two years, players are consistently able to gain 8-10 points. That used to be 1-2 last year. I think a bit of middle ground might be in order and my current suspicion is that they haven't truly fixed the system. It's directly reminiscent of last year. Development was overpowered until November, then they patched it and made it terribly weak.

I hope I'm wrong, but does nobody else think this is a bit of déjà vu?

when i first started scouting, i was thinking the same thing. but they start to level off and some just completely drop off. very few do i see keep that consistant growth rate. after 7 seasons, i have 3 players that developed into top class players, the highest overall being 86. everyone else's growth has been inconsistant. some of them got injured and degressed -1 overall.

gotta see how they grow over mulitple seasons.

Oh yes I think their height is randomised enourmously. I have a upcoming technically skilled CAM (from the looks of it) who weighs 72 kg and is 190 cm... dafuq? Technically skilled? I have to see that!

Re: FIFA 13 - Youth Academy and Player Growth

I find that stealing away big clubs prospects is easier than getting my own.

For instance, one Hugo Boselli. 19yr old Striker and he was... 77 overall when I picked him up from Barca.

Once I signed him, I looked at his height - he's 6'9". LMFAO He's also fast as hell and everything - Complete Attacker or whatever that is. He's now 23 I think and a 92 overall.

Leading scorer in the MLS for 3 years until I got a new one - Jiminez, LW I signed off FREE AGENCY. Dude is ridiculous. Multiple 2+ goal games, finished one year with 32 goals I think. These guys are in the MLS playing for my Columbus Crew.
