Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Oh man, I have been on fire with Villarreal. All I had to do was move to a regular 4-3-3 with Remy as my striker and Grosicki out wide on the left. I'm 19 games into the season and lead the league by two points over Barcelona, with just two losses!

My boy dos Santos has been on fire, dribbling like a madman and racking up 11 goals in 19 games. Remy has eight, with seven assists; Kalas has been the surprise package, chipping in with a smashing 11 assists, mostly via crosses! Dani Alves who?

It's January, and I've sold a couple of surplus players like Lejeune and Juan Carlos. I've been getting loads of offers for €14 million-rated Giovani dos Santos, countering each time with €40 million just to test the waters. Bayern and Barcelona came in with offers around the €20 million mark; both were willing to go as high as €30 million. Chelsea only bid €16 million but were willing to pay €32 million. PSV offered €24.5 million but passed up my counter-offer altogether. It looks like I could sell Gio for as much as €50 million in the summer to the right club (Madrid, PSG, City) should I choose to cash in, but if he's this good I might keep him for at least my first one or two Champions League campaigns.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Bayern Munich 2019-20 update!

February 1st, 2020.

Xherdan Shaqiri mulled over a move away from Bayern for a good part of the first season. He cemented his decision to leave just before the transfer window opened. He was sold to Chelsea for 23.5 mil.

Other transfers out were a handful of youth players on loan, with no one else significant leaving.

No one was brought in.

This is now how my ideal team looks:

Starting XI:

(modified 4-5-1, more like a 4-1-4-1)

Neuer

Boateng - Badstuber - Mero - Alaba

Kroos

Muller - Gotze - Draxler - Bruma

Lewandowski

Bench:

Kachunga (ST, 79 ovr)
Hojbjerg (CM, 84 ovr)
Schnellhardt (GK, 71 ovr...youth prospect)
Cavare (LM, 78 ovr... I believe its the Ribery regen)
Streker (CDM, 81 ovr)
Hauser (LB, 80 ovr)
Goretzka (CM, 85 ovr)

usually Draxler and Goretzka rotate depending on the current form of the player. I have massively underrated Hojbjerg. Looking at his stats, he is essentially a younger Kroos. Lacking a little in the shot power, but holding steady everywhere else, he is definitely a future starter. Schnellhardt is developing quite slowly (as all youth GK's do), but I am hoping he will be ready in 2 years (3 max) when Neuer calls it quits. Neuer is currently 33 and 90 overall, so no point in finding another GK at the moment with probably the best keeper in the world still.

I am still holding strong in Champions League, winning 6 out of 6 matches. Including a romping of PAOK for the opening match, which ended 10-0 (I even simmed this game and we decimated them!).

I am into the 4th round of the Deutscher Pokal as well.

After 22 games in the Bundesliga, I sit atop the standings with 55 points. The rest of the top 6 fills out as follows:

2. Schalke - 48
3. Wolfsburg - 48
4. BVB Dortmund - 43
5. Bayer 04 - 38
6. Hamburger SV - 38

The gap to 7th is 7 points (held by Werder Bremen currently)

Depending on how much my youth prospects grow will directly impact my transfer strategy for the summer window. I'm really hoping one of my 4 youth GK's can get up to at least around 76. I'm going to hate for Neuer to go down without a decently reliable backup. Lewandowski is getting older as well, he is currently 31. Kachunga looks like he will be more than capable of taking over the starting striker role, if Lewa were to go down ever. However, I have debating between bringing in Martial to run a 2 striker system OR taking advantage of the bajillion midfielders I have and running the 4-3-3 false 9 with Gotze as the CF. It will be determined over the last half of the season.

Took a quick look at the standings for other leagues. Arsenal are in danger of relegation in the EPL.... Barca are sitting 6th in Liga BBVA.... AC Milan and Juve are tied at the top of Seria A, and PSG is winning Ligue 1 by 18 points. Interesting eh.... lol

Updating more later!

Real Sociedad update 2013-14

Manage to squeeze a few games in before work and must say I'm impressed with the team first game won 2-1 against elche

Next match was against athletico Madrid and went into half time 0-0 I replace granero with some youth player and all his threw balls went through next thing I know I'm 3-0 up thinking what the heck the Madrid scored 2 and then I got a handball in the box ( play with hand balls on) 3-3 80th min so I put 5 at the back to get the point and replaced my striker for a cam and he Eason fire game finished 6-3 to me I couldn't believe it

Next was levante my cb got red carded and in the end lost 1-0

Next match is against Barcelona so should be interesting

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Quick question. Can you disable booking in career? I invented a new sport that can be played in FIFA 14 and I want to do it in manager mode, but IDK how to disable booking.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

So. Disaster struck. 4 seasons into my Everton Career Mode, my save file got corrupted and now it keeps on freezing no matter what I do. It's a huge shame, because I really wanted to continue with it. Then again, it was getting a little stale, but I was too attatched to my players to move to a different club. RIP Everton. My final squad:

GK: Courtois (84)
RB: De Sciglio (82)
CB: Sakho (90)
CB: Varane (85)
LB: Baines (84)
CM: Pogba (85)
CM: Malanda (82)
RAM: Bakkali (85)
CAM: Insigne (83)
LAM: Lucas (89)
ST: Balotelli (89)

A really, really good side.

NOW! Onto my next era of career mode. I wanted to stick to the Premier League for the time being, but I wanted a different, harder challenge. So I decided to go for Crystal Palace, 5 mins each half, Legendary. I'm halfway into the transfer window and I've already played two friendlies. I can't remember the squad or their rating since I'm unfamiliar with Palace, but I'll TRY to remember at least. But first, my transfers thus far:

IN:
Bonilla
Carrasco
Dier
Bakkali (loan)

OUT:
--

FAILED TRANSFERS:
Zouma
Goretzka
Martial

aaaand the team:
GK: Speroni (74)
RB: Ward (73)
CB: Dier (73)
CB: Dann (70)
LB: Parr (69)
CDM: Jedinak (74)
RM: Ince (71)
CM: Ledley (71)
LM: Bakkali (72)
ST: Chamakh (75)
ST: Gayle (69)

It feels really weird playing with Crystal Palace because I'm used to just rampaging teams

First game I played was at home to Sassuolo and it was a pretty fun match from a neutral's perspective. I took the lead in the 11th minute with Bakkali getting his debut goal with a tidy finish after cutting in from the left. However, Sassuolo hit back twice and I found myself 2-1 down at half time. Impressively, substitute Murray knocked the ball into the net with a diving header, and, 90th minute, Chamakh scores with his weak foot, dragging the ball into the near post with the goalkeeper slow to react. 3-2 final score, but it was undeserved and Sassuolo threatened a lot. The second game was away to Lazio, but I surprisingly found it easier. However, it was still 0-0 until the 90th minute when Chamakh scored (again) with a run in from the right and a one-on-one composed finish. So so far, 2 wins out of 2.
