Yeah I figured I'd try it out since that was his main position when I started the career. I was a bit skeptical at first because I felt he was more suited to the wing like you say, but he has fit in perfectly and reminds me of the way messi plays in this playmaking position (not as good of course.)

I still have the secure midfield partnership of Benat and Ander Herrera, and it also let me bring in ibai gomez to fill in the left wing. It works for me, just comes down to personal preference because I think both options have their pros/cons. Good luck with your Bilbao career!

Chesterfield FC - 2013/14
League Objective: Gain Automatic Promotion
Domestic Cup Objective: Round of 32

I'm now toward the end of December on my Chesterfield FC career - I actually started it last weekend, so I've been working through it for about a week.

We currently sit top of the League 2 table through 23 games, with a record of 15-6-2 for 51 points, 6 points clear of second place Scnthorpe, and with a game in hand on them.

The two league losses were pretty frustrating. We lost 0-1 at home to Exeter City after going 7-5-0 to start out. Exeter City started 6 defenders and parked the bus. It was one of those frustrating matches where we took some obscene number of shots, but every one of them were blocked or off target or their keeper saved easily, before they scored the lone goal in the 87th minute because of an absolute defensive lapse. (I thought he was offside, but he was through on goal.)

After that we tore through the league, winning most of our matches before falling 2-1 at bottom-table Torquay. Both losses in the league were after playing on 2 days rest, so I had to start quite a few of the subs. Still, no excuse for losing to bottom table teams like this.

We won the Round 2 FA Cup matchup against Port Vale 2-1 thanks to some last minute heroics from Ryan, one of our holding midfielders, who found a hole in their back line and put the through ball in the top of the net on his first touch.

We were far less fortunate in the Capital One Cup, though, losing in the first round to Crawley Town. The game was scoreless through 90 minutes. We scored what I hoped would be the winner in the first period of extra time, but Crawley got one back in the second period, so we went to penalties, where I learned the hard way that a League 2 squad is a different challenge in taking PKs after being used to playing with better squads. They crushed us 3-1 in PKs.

We're tearing it up in the J. Paint Trophy, having just won our Area Semi Final against Preston 1-0. Up next is the two-legged Area Final against Rochdale. I think we have a legitimate chance at taking home this trophy, even though I use this competition as a means of resting a lot of my starters through the brutal League 2 schedule.

I've gotta say, I'm loving this team. They're not the most talented group of players I've ever controlled, but I like their grit. I think World Class is proving a little too easy though, so I'll be bumping it up to Legendary next season.

Cheers for reading. I'll update after the January transfer window.

The second season of my Hertha BSC career started and I got bored with it. Can you please suggest any nice career mode teams, that aren't too easy or too hard?

Bayern Munich/1860 Munich Update!

If you have been reading my posts, you know that I have taken over 1860 Munich indirectly. I have been buying players for them and then doing player for player swaps, in an effort to improve competition in the Bundesliga.

January, 2016 Window:

No one joined Bayern Munich in the January window for my permanent team. Fellaini joined until the summer as that is when he will be shipped of to 1860.

To 1860 Munich, I sent Giroud and Dante. Dante wanted to move on, so his wish was granted. He is aging and is not skilled enough anymore to earn a starting role consistently, despite being 84 overall.

My team looks like this:

4-2-3-1

Neuer (89)
Lahm (84)
Hummels (87)
Badstuber (87)
Alaba (86)
Schweinsteiger (87)
Kroos (89)
Rodriguez (89)
Muller (89)
Gotze (91)
Lewandowski (89)

Bench:

Ribery (86)
Thiago (85)
Shaqiri (83)
Javi Martinez (85)
Starke (76)
Kirchoff (77)
Ginter (79)

Top Reserve Players:

Hojbjerg (74)
Contento (76)

Currently, I sit first in the Bundesliga with an unheralded 69 points after 23 games. Which means I have not dropped any points (playing all games on Legendary). I also play Zenit in the R16 of Champions League.

1860 Munich:

Currently, my pseudo-team sits second in Bundesliga 2 with 39 points. They are 12-3-4 after 19 games, scoring 34 goals and conceding 18. The only team above them is 1. FC K'lautern. They have a relatively decent crop of players down the middle (Sirigu, Jones, Dante, Taison, and Giroud. Robben plays RM). My goal is for them to achieve promotion. Depending on what they do this season will depend who I buy for them come summer. They will receive Fellaini to strengthen their defense a little. I plan on buying them a LM/LW, possibly Tello. If they somehow do not achieve promotion, I will buy a LM, and a decent RB/LB, as they seem a little weak.

That's all for now! Will update more at the end of the season!

Hmmm... When you said he reminds you of a Messi style, it made me think about trying him out at a CF in a False 9 formation. The ST would be sacrificed and De Marcos/Iturraspe would return to the starting line up alongside with Beņat and Herrera. Just a thought if you want to try that out. It would make him your Messi for Bilbao.

The first time I made a career with Bilbao (ages ago) I did something similar but the only difference is I had Ibai Gomez as CF since Aduriz wasn't scoring and Gomez scored pretty much every time he was subbed in. The formation worked out great for me but we lost all of our aerial attack making it pointless to put in crosses (Susaeta's specialty). Since we had to play every ball on the ground it really limited our scoring chances.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

I wanted to start a CM with a team that I never play as and decided to use Barcelona. I am just now starting my second season.

Past CM Teams;
Real Madrid-3 Seasons
FC Schalke 04-2 Seasons
AC Milan-2 Seasons
Tottenham Hotspur-3 Seasons

Settings;
Bacrelona/World Class/7min/US Dollars/Injury Sliders On 0

Transfers:
Players Out;Sanchez,Pedro,Valdez,Mascherano,Song,Puyol,Cue nca,Afellay

Players In;Thiago Silva,Hugo Lloris,Diego Costa,Mateo Kovacic,Gareth Bale

I play a custom False 9 so my team looks like this...
Lloris(85)
Dani Alves(84)
Pique(87)
Thiago Silva(88)
Jordi Alba(82)
Basquets(85)
Xavi(87)
Iniesta(90)
Messi(95)
Bale(90)
Neymar(90)
Bench:
Fabregas(86)
Montoya(77)
Bartra(78)
Tello(79)
Kovacic(77)
Diego Costa(84)
Oier(66)

1st Season Stats:
I had by far the best season in my fifa history playing on world class.I had finished 31-7-0 with 100 points and obviously won the cup as well as the domestic cup,Spanish cup, manager of the year and player of the year with Bale. Real and Atletico Madrid finished with 88 and 87 points. I Also had a great year statistically with some of my players. The top 5 in goals and assist looked like this...
Goals
1.Bale(34)
2.Messi(24)
3.Ronaldo(23)
4.Rooney(21)-(Atletico Madrid)
5.Neymar/Suarez(Real Madrid)(19)
Assist
1.Neymar(18)
2.Messi(16)
3.Ronaldo(12)
4.Bale(11)
5.Xavi(10)

Lloris also had 20 clean sheets

So this year i have high expectations but don expect to be undefeated. As far as my team goes im going to try and add a better back up GK and i might try to add young players and send them out on loan.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Update on Villarreal, season 3: August 2015

I haven't had the best start to the season. During the three preseason fixtures (Monchengladbach, Montpelier, Manchester City), I felt as though the players were struggling for fitness. Despite winning two and losing one, it seemed like things just weren't right.

This was confirmed during my 3-2 opening day win over Real Betis. Despite being 2-0 up and comfortably in control for the first hour, I conceded twice in five minutes soon after. My midfielders stopped responding, my defenders suddenly went static, and the opposition sent in some ridiculous through balls and crosses. It was one of those 'cheating AI' moments, and it really got to me. It took a miraculous late penalty (tucked away by Remy) to spare me the embarrassment of losing on the first day.

In the first leg of the Supercopa de Espaņa, Atletico Madrid dismantled me with a clinical 2-0 win. They've become the most fearsome team in Spain, with purchases like Pogba and Lewandowski supplementing an already fierce squad. Arda Turan was absolutely amazing, setting up both goals with exquisite crosses.

Following three days of rest, I have three games in seven days: Bilbao (league), Atletico Madrid (Supercopa) and Barcelona (league). It's not going to be easy, but I really ought to come out with at least four points and (hopefully) a trophy.

I'm currently playing a custom 4-1-2-3 (http://www.footballuser.com/formatio...eal_CF_SAD.jpg). By packing my midfield and defending through the middle, I hope to control the game. Thanks to a world-class keeper and some excellent full backs I don't really have trouble defending attacks from the flanks. It's in the middle that I find myself too prone to slip-ups. I could play a 4-2-3-1 that attacks through the middle, but the double pivot is too static for my liking.

Very good suggestion. I'm happy with my formation and players right now, but it could be an option if some players are dipping in form (Don't mind benching players if they aren't performing.) Or it could be an option once Aduriz retires since there aren't many high profile basque strikers around.

I'll probably give it a go in a few cup games this season and let you know how it goes, nothing wrong with trying out some new tactics
