Try Wolves RTG from League 1 or if you want to have some fun do Borussia Dortmund
I also found putting Galatasaray and other Rest of World Teams in FL Championship then using them quite enjoyable
Rebuilding Manchester United is ok if you want to try that (keep it realistic)
For a yolo career do Real Madrid an just try to build the best team possible on career mode

I did a super league once where I put the 20 best teams in the game (IMO) in the BPL league, then the next best 24 teams in the FL championship, next best 24 in Football League 1 and same thing for Football League 2. That way when a team gets relegated/promoted the super league idea isn't lost and it is very in depth (except for champions league) When doing that I like to use a team I put in the Football League 2 coz some of them are still really decent with good young players and budgets and I find that RTG more enjoyable

I hope this helps

I also personally really enjoyed an Everton Career Mode with financial takeover, not world class signings but a lot of decent ones my team was as follows after first season:

GK: Tim Krul
RB: Joao Cancelo (grows fast)
CB: Jonny Evans
CB: Toprak
LB: Kieran Gibbs
CDM: Alex Song
CDM: Miralem Pjanic
RM: Kevin Mirallas
LM: Gerard Deulofeu
CAM: Ross Barkley
ST: Romelu Lukaku

Bought Lukaku and Deulofeu at start of second season because they were great for me

Have a lot of other pre-contract arrivals such as Marco Sau, Clement Grenier, Mateo Musacchio, Fernando(Porto)

Started this a while ago so those guys were available pre-season

Want to still buy Mario Fernandes seeing that Cancelo is my only RB (Seamus Coleman wanted to leave and board was going to sell him so I sold him for 8,500,000)
Also want to buy Luke Shaw as backup LB and another instant impact striker like Jackson Martinez to back up Lukaku

Unfortunately budget went back to 13,000,000 after first season financial takeover was done so I have limited funds seeing that I already bought Lukaku and Deulofeu after selling a few squad players as well

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

Editing Everton Post:

Also signed these three on pre-contract

CB: Marc Bartra
CDM: Blaise Matuidi
RM: Patrick Ebert

I had these players on loan with an option for a buy at end fee

CB: Tin Jedvaj
CM: James Ward-Prowse
ST: Yassine Benzia
ST: Anthony Martial

*potentials according to Sofifa

GK- Simone Scuffet (18 years old, 70 overall, 88 potential)
RB- Deandre Yedlin (21 years old, 69 overall, 78 potential)
RCB- Nathan Ake (19 years old, 70 overall, 82 potential)
LCB- Eric Dier (20 years old, 74 overall, 81 potential)
LB- Ezekiel Fryers (21 years old, 65 overall, 78 potential)
RM- Serge Gnabry (19 years old, 73 overall, 84 potential)
RCM- Yuya Kubo (20 years old, 70 overall, 84 potential)
LCM- Pedro Azogue (19 years old, 67 overall, 68 potential)
LM- Leon Goretzka (19 years old, 71 overall, 85 potential)
RS- Anthony Martial (18 years old, 67 overall, 87 potential)
LS- Bard Finne (19 years old, 67 overall, 81 potential)

I figure by the time we get to the BPL (about 2-3 seasons), they should all be at, or around their potentials. They will all by playing every game barring injuries since I really have no subs except for some decent players.

I like your frequent posts and your fifa 14 best buys forum, I often post there thanks man!

I just won League 2 by a comfortable margin, got promoted to League 1, and won manager of the year. For all of that, the Chesterfield board gives me 525,000 for transfers. Then they tell me my objective for the season is to "fight for promotion," which, as I understand it, means they want me to qualify for the League 1 playoffs, or a top-6 finish.

I've built a young squad that I think has good potential, but they aren't ready to compete in League 1 right away. (Especially since I bumped the difficulty up to Legendary.) I need some help at RB, RM, and CM, but there's no way I'm going to get that with 525k. I may be able to add a player or two for depth, but I'm not going to find a guy who comes in and immediately strengthens my squad with that little money to spend.

So what do you do in this situation? How do you deal with this frustration? Because honestly, this is a big reason why most of my CMs rarely last more than a season or two, but I want to stick this one out.

This might seem stupid but:
If you have any money left over at the end of the season, before the season ends convert it ALL to wages (make sure you don't get any prize money or anything after you converted it)
What this does is it gives you the normal budget they would've given PLUS more money based on how much wages you have in the account after you converted it all
In the case of a League 2 team it might only be something like 400k but even that could help you
I did a Sydney FC career mode to see what it's like (horrible) and I did that and converted my money to wages at end of season and got a 8,000,000 budget instead of a 1,700,000 budget
Also did this with an Atletico Career and got about 80,000,000 budget instead of whatever their default is
I hope this helps (btw Atletico were great this morning defeating Barcelona and honestly should've won by more)

WOOOOOOOW. I literally JUST found out that to do skill moves you don't have to hold the L2 button anymore. This completely changes things. Can't tell you how many times I would be trying to dribble past someone only for my player to end up shielding the ball. Hopefully with this I can finally stop sucking lol
