I started with the Pittsburgh Penguins. After the 4 pre-season matches I decided to trade Malkin away. Malkin was just a 2nd liner and heīs to good for this. So I searched for some younger players and found Taylor Hall and Jordon Eberle and they fitted perfectly in the trade value of Malkin. So the final trade was Malkin + Tangradi + Kennedy + one prospect player for Hall + Eberle + 2013 2nd round pick from Anaheim.
Then I also traded Vokoun + Ruopp + two other prospect players for Luca Sbisa + Deslauriers from Anaheim.

Now my lines are looking like this.

Hall - Crosby - Eberle
Neal - Sutter - Kunitz
Smyth - Smith - Dupuis
Cooke - Dupuis - Adams

Martin - Letang
Sbisa - Orpik
Reese - Niskanen

Fleury
Johnson

But I think that I had get more for Malkin and Vokoun.
Iīm open for constructive feedback and tips. And I donīt have much "Hockey IQ" so please be indulge to me.
I think your return for malkin is great. Eberle + Crosby + Hall will KILL IT lol

What Davidakiis said! Those lines are going to dominate, especially the first one. Good work, and good luck to you!

The player in question is a 5 gold star Goalie who is rated 88 at 21. The only issue is he wants $9.3 million for 4 years. I am currently using an 83 rated Goaltender who has several Vezina's and Conn Smythes under his belt but is rapidly approaching his mid 30's. Further more he is only costing me $5.5 million a year which is much more reasonable.
I have heard some people on the forum state that elite goaltenders do not perform. Is this true? Should I sign this guy?
Pekka Rinne is my only experience with an elite Goalie and from what I've experienced with Rinne compared to my back up I'd say it isn't worth chasing an elite Goalie if you are playing the games. I've still got him on my roster while I can afford to but when it comes to replacing him I won't be chasing anyone worth more than $5m.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going? NHL 13 Edition

I've completed the 2014 draft in my Preds GM and came out a bit disappointed in what was available. Picked up a 4 star goalie in the first round and then it was all 3.5 or less-a lot less in some cases.
Thankfully I already have a few prospects so it's not too bad and most will probably be dealt at the trade deadline.
Hal Gill has retired but that was the only change to my NHL roster with everyone else staying on, although I almost let Legwand go.
My NHL lines for 2014-15

Hornqvist 81 Legwand 83 Erat 83
Halischuk 80 Wilson 80 Spaling 80
Smith 80 Fisher 81 Kostitsyn 81
Puustinen 74 Watson 77 Beck 73

Josi 84 Weber 90
Cole 84 Blum 85
Ekholm 77 Ellis 78

Rinne 89
Sateri 77

I'm hoping for another Stanley Cup season, but will settle for a deep playoffs run.
In the AHL I'm going to double shift my most promising forwards again

Sissons 64 Klopper 42 Salomaki 66
Gortz 63 Koskinen 62 MacDonald 54

Pouliot 62 Lundin 75
Jorgenson 62 Jarvinen 76
Roy 58 Reese 76

Bartosak 52
Hellberg 66

It could be another long season for the Admirals, hopefully I can pick up an extra couple of wins and make a push for the playoffs.

I'd go after a good forward that doesn
t have much trade value if you can afford him, tomas vanek and alex semin are both highly offensive players you can get for cheap

I was hoping for the same thing as I had noticed that they did not sign him the year before. It doesn't work that way though as regardless of his age they consider him a UFA which has no restrictions on salary.

Looking for a 2 or 3 line tough defenseman who is young. Anyone got any names+team? Don't know much about the NHL as I said before but I do know my defense seems a bit soft.

Luke Schenn [PHILADELPHIA] or Jamie Oleksiak [DALLAS] are young tough as nails defenseman
If you go into trading block. You can search for players that match what you want.
