Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

So I'm gonna be starting a new BAGM with my beloved Pens but thinking about doing some trades to kinda stack my team (like it isn't already with the two headed monster) but def gonna look to try n trade for Evander Kane. Him n Crosby together would be just sick. Also looking to trade maybe Kobasew or Glass idk any ideas or suggestions on who I should try to trade for. The big thing for me tho is the cap hit the Pens salary cap isn't all that great n idk how to fix it before doing a gm mode so guess I'm stuck but any suggestions on trades I would appreciate it. Thanks guys .... Let's Go Pens!

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

12-10-4 at the moment with my Avs in the second season. 8th in the conference and 4th in the Central division.

Had a superior start with 5-1-0 after the first 6, had a tough five game losing streak but bounced back with two straight victories where we´ve really shut down, just dropped one goal in these two against Islanders and Flyers.

Duchene, Skinner and Landeskog is the ones that currently producing most points, the first line. Duchene and Skinner is sitting with 16 points and Landeskog with 15 26 games in to the season.

Erik Johnson and Jack Johnson has been decent with 13 and 10 points each. Currently sitting with -2 and +2, can be better.

Top 5 scorers:

Duchene (6-10-16)
Skinner (9-7-16)
Landeskog (5-10-15)
Grabner (5-8-13)
E.Johnson (1-12-13)

Just have to write a little about Mackinnon, such an exciting prospect. Ended his rookie season with 39 points in 75 games, currently sitting with 10 in 26. Ended with -15 last year but currently sitting on +-0, not brilliant stats but really doing the work from the second line. Have to remember that the kid is only 19-years old, brilliant prospect.

Screwed it up with Varlamovs contract before the season and were made to take in two goalies because of my decision to let Giguere leave. Elliot and Markström came, Markström with 4.5 red stars in potential, some bit of a gambling there but we´ll see. Anyway, Markström was absolutely brilliant until his injury came, he rolled with a save percentage on 93-94%, just brilliant. But got injured and just haven´t showed those skills again, currently an GAA on 2.79 and a SVP on 90.93%. Hope he get there again.

Now my only focus is to reach the playoffs, going to be hard but not impossible. Go Avs, go!

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

Small update on my first season with the Red Wings. We've improved to third overall in the East with a current record of 20-10-6. Gustavsson has continued to play solid, posting a 5-2-1 record with 2.11gaa and .932sp. Howard has upped his game of late, particularly in maybe the best game I've ever played in NHL 14, a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay. Howard stopped 47 of 48 shots and was unreal, while Bishop (Tampa's netminder) also played outstanding and stopped 44 of my 46. I scored the game winning goal on a 2-on-1 break during a poorly timed Tampa Bay line change with less than three minutes left in the third. Howard currently sits 15-6-5 with a 2.43gaa .910sp and 2so.

Zetterberg (36gp 18g 23a 41p) and Datayuk (36gp 16g 23a 39p) continue to carry the team and dominate. Nyquist has literally been an unbelievable force since retuning from injury 7 games ago. He has 7g and 5a in 15gp. Helm has returned to the lineup and is now 100%; he's posted two assists in his last 4 games and played great defensively.

Alfredsson (34gp 11g 14a 25p), the team's third leading scorer, was recently injured on a hit from behind against Pittsburgh, but only missed two games. Tomas Jurco made his NHL debut and recorded an assist in the next game, a 3-1 loss to a determined Florida Panthers team who Detroit beat earlier in the season 5-1. Jacob Markstrom was a BEAST, stopping 36 of my 37 shots on him. Jurco has since been returned to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Another player performing well is Tomas Tatar, who has averaged only 14 minutes per game on mostly the third line but has somehow recorded 10g and 9a in 36 games. Joakim Andersson (36gp 5g 6a 11p) has also played incredibly strong on the fourth line; he boasts he best faceoff percentage on the team at 54.97%.

More to come later! Thanks for reading!

Well, not much to rave about here. A lot didn't go our way. From bad bounce to broken sticks, we found nothing. What we did get to the net, Howard swept aside like child's play.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

Had to fight and fight to lose in a shoot-out but, there were some nice goals by both teams. Great game to play but, still disappointed.

Love the videos, man. Keep 'em coming. That was a harsh SO loss to Washington.

When I did a GM mode with Colorado, he got to a 96 overall (pretty crazy) but if that was luck, he could probably turn out to be an 89-90 overall center.
