Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

I'm still getting acquainted to hockey since it's not a popular sport here in my country, so I don't know exactly which players are good or not (aside from the stars like Crosby)...
Still, I started a GM mode with my beloved Islanders (all-star difficulty). Signed Dupuis and Latendresse and they are pretty much "saving" the team's offense, since the 1st line is really struggling to put the puck on net.
Team is 4-6-0 and I'm thinking of dealing Tavares for an elite defenseman or goalie like Pietrangelo or even J. Quick.

Already made some trades:
NYI send D Ryan Pulock and D Ville Pokka
BUF send D Jamie McBain

NYI send D Lubomir Visnovsky and LW Eric Boulton
NYR send LW Mats Zuccarello and 2014 4th rounder

NYI send RW Rhett Rakhshani
MTL send 2014 6th rounder (felt like I was robbed on this one but I needed to deal a RW)

sorry for the long post and my bad english haha. Any thoughts would be appreciated

NY Rangers, 24-10-5

3rd in the Metropolitan.

Point Leaders:
Nash: 22G, 19A
Callahan: 15G, 12A
Richards: 11G, 14A

Lundqvist 1.92 GAA, 92SV%, 19-9.

Hartford is 19-8-4. JT Miller recently called up for great play in the AHL and an injury to Zuc's. Early injury to Zuc's and Stepan, both broken legs. They've returned but feel JT will play better for me than Z so trying to figure out if i healthy scratch, send down, or attempt trade.

I have been thinking about starting a ' Be A GM' and re-build the Edmonton Oilers. I have been watching a ton of Oil Change lately and it has got me pumped. I usually always play with the Penguins, so this will be a nice change of pace.

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

god the canucks cannot win a cup.

finally made it to the Finals in 2022 and taken out in 6 games, giving Toronto their second straight Cup after a breakout year following rebuilding. Gaunce took the Hart and Art Ross, Shinkaruk took the Maurice Richard, but we still managed to lose.

i hate vancouver. u_u

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

finally won the cup with vancouver after a president's trophy season and an amazing season by our top 6. our ahl team also took home the calder!

Shinkaruk | Gaunce | Rakell
Skinner | Dauphin | Clarke
Mantha | Tursumbayev | Tollefsen
Tatar | McCann | Wennberg

Murray | Sanguinetti
Tanev | Corrado
Orlov | Bowey

St-Arnaud
Holowenko

shinkaruk had 94 points and 48 goals. clarke had 90 points. dauphin had 89 and 49 goals. gaunce had 89 points. rakell had 77 points. skinner had 71 points. st-arnaud had a 2.32 GAA and holowenko had a 2.10 GAA. our season was 57-20-5, good for 119 points. playoffs:

4-2 over Phoenix
4-1 over LA
4-1 over Winnipeg
4-3 over Tampa Bay

we pretty much dominated the playoffs. series against tampa bay was crazy. got off to a fast start with two wins and then tampa bay tied it up. game 5 was an amazing 8-3 win with 6 points by clarke and 5 by dauphin. game 6 i though we had for sure, but we kept blowing leads and gave up two goals in the third to lose 5-6. game 7 mccann had an amazing 3 point game and we won 5-1 to finally win a cup. dauphin had some really huge goals in the playoffs with 15 goals. shinkaruk led our team with 29 points.

shinkaruk took home the art ross, hart memorial, and the ted lindsay. duaphin took the maurice richard. rakell took the conn smythe with 28 points.

i smell a dynasty, but then again this is year 11 and our playoff track record isn't too great:

1st
1st
2nd
DNQ
DNQ
2nd
DNQ
1st
4th
2nd
Won Cup

Re: How's Your GM Mode going?

Playing all games in the Detroit/Grand Rapids seasons. Just started as I feel I finally found the "right" combo to get a pretty authentic game. I am 5-2-0 with DRW and 3-0-0 with Grand Rapids.

I am averaging 4 pp's a game through 7 games in the Nhl and 5 Pp's a game in the AHL. Playing on superstar, 9 minutes, attribute affect maxed, fatigue maxed, recover from fatigue 1 click, the only difference, while I have penalties maxed, I have stic lift for CPU maxed as well as aggressive for CPU maxed. Seems to be pretty good at authenticism.

As I am permanently retired from eashl, having the most fun in years in BeAGM. Having all arena's music spot on adds another realism element (including AHL) my only wish is that they would have echl also...
