Re: NHL 15 - How's your GM Mode going?

Started season 2 with Coyotes. can't recall exactly who I let go to FA but I do believe it was a few AHL guys that were 29 with +/- 50 overall. since I traded away a few picks during last season, I only really got one guy worth signing from this draft, Leon Draasatil. I gave him his 3 years and let the others stay unsigned for now. I'll let them progress and give them a deal next season if they look promising. The Bruins didn't match my minimal offer for Torey Krug, so I gave them my 2nd round pick in exchange to get my defense up a bit. The majority of my issues last season was defense related and so I wanted to fill the spots of some older guys with younger talent. Couldn't dump Doan in a trade, so I held on to him. He and Yandle will be UFA at the end of the year and Doan actually was producing, I just wanted to see if I could clear up my roster a bit more. No issue: through 4 games so far he's been among my top scorers still. In fact, we are currently 4-0-0 to start the new campaign after going 3-2-1 in preseason. I signed Joacim Poopooplatter to a 1-year deal worth $800k for 3rd line D to share with Mike Stone. Michalek and Krug make up my second pairing with OEL beside Yandle as top 2. Bissonnette is in Portland to start the year as he'll be filling in for injuries on 4th line or bottom D. I may even put Poopooplatter on a forward line to see if there is hidden potential.

Yup, Poopooplatter. He's in the revamped roster. I think he's a 69 overall d-man. Play-by-play calls him "Khan" I believe, which isn't nearly as funny as I was hoping.

Simmed a few games today after realizing that Smith and Domingue were my goalies for NHL and my minor team only had Visentin. I signed Dubnyk for a year kind of mirroring real life. We got our first loss to the 5-1 Jets, then we fell to 7-4-1.

We beat Boston 2-1 via the shootout and are surprisingly 3-0 in shootouts so far this season.

We beat Montreal in OT, 5-4!!! Backup goalie, Jake Allen gets a W and the Blues travel to Ottawa next.

Tight game vs Ottawa, but we win 2-1 in OT. Last stop on this road trip ends in Winnipeg.

We beat Winnipeg, 5-1 but lose Steen. I saw a standings graphic during the game, not sure I've ever seen that before. Anyway, we have the most points in the NHL right now and get to come home and face Ottawa.

Ottawa comes to St. Louis and once again we go into OT. We beat them 3-2 on Tarasenko's 10th goal of the season!

One last home game against Edmonton and then we hit the road to take on Minnesota who has won 9 games in a row.
