The time could be just right for a competitor on 2015

Lets be honest with ourselves. Is the gampeplay from NHL15 a little to similar to nhl14 on the 360? The answer is yes it is. I believe when a new generation of hardware is introduced, the new product should never mimic the old one. 2k has been without hockey for quite some time. Have they had enough time to plan a next gen experience? I would say yes. Could 2k take advantage of the missing modes and similar gameplay that is Nhl15?I would say yes. IMHO NHL15 is not a next gen experience. It feels way to similar and doesn't look the part. 2k has a golden opportunity to gain market share only if they have been planning/working I a hockey tittle.

2k is not working on a hockey title. they lost a ton of money on their last hockey franchise and that is why they abandon it.

further, it would take years from now for any developer to challenge EA.

finally, this should probably go in impressions so it'll probably get closed.

What is needed is an indie, open-source, multi-platform hockey project....

Start it simple. Once you get something playable, start a kickstarter campaign.

That could really work.

even if a 2k or another developer gets the rights to make an NHL sponsored game, the development time from scratch to finish would be over a year, possibly two. So the EA competitor wouldn't even be available before 2016

Re: The time could be just right for a competitor on 2015

Ok, how could i start.......

I Was furious when i found out, what it had missing. I was writing messages to nhl team and rammer, but you know how they deal this kind of whining.

But then i just sat down and realized, FOR A FIRST NEXT GEN RELEASE this game is looking really amazing. At a starting point of current gen we didn't have all we have now or had to be exact. For example EASHL HUT, LTL etc.

What i want to say is we are so used to have all the modes and everything. Series was on stand still graphic and gameplay wise. so they just had to put other in my opinnion usesless modes in the game, to make it more attractive until the Next gen come out.

So now the cycle goes again. first we will get graphic quality rise for couple of years. then the modes will come. GRAPHICS was their main concern.
AND in my mind mainly all of the modes or 90% will be back next year.

Maybe we just don't know how hard it was to get those graphics right, presentation and everything. There wasn't enough time to get everything in.
Like gameplay wise this game is like night and day vs old gen. everything feels and looks so much better. And almost everyone who whines does it because of modes not the gameplay.

If they put the modes in THIS GAME WILL BE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

YOU Can't have everything in first release of next gan game.

Haha i posted this same comment in another thread. I think its time for competition, 2k still has to have a base of their hockey games stashed somewhere so they could build off of that. This is perfect timing for someone to step up and challenge EA.
