Re: How often are you playing NHL 15 next gen now?

I was very excited about it in the months leading up to release, then the demo dropped and I pre-ordered it the next day.

Then some of the bad news started to surface and I quickly got rid of my pre-order. I have no interest in getting it now.

I'm rather pessimistic about NHL 16, to be honest. To me, the launch of NHL 15 was a disaster.

I play 1-3 games a day. Also playing GTA V, Infamous : second son, Madden 15. So I have no problem with the game just have many that I play.

... It's not. Madden, FIFA, and 2k all released on PS4 and XB1 last year. NHL did not. Lead producer Sean Ramjagsingh said that they wouldn't need to solve all the tricky next-gen problems since FIFA and Madden did that. Yet, NHL is still unrealistic.

I play 2K Hockey on my phone more than NHL 15... 2K on the phone to me already feels like a better hockey game and the simple physics they have work better than EA crap.

Re: How often are you playing NHL 15 next gen now?

After over 100 votes and coming up on 5 months since the game's release we see:

60% either regret purchasing the game or no longer play it/own it

vs.

18% still play this game or enjoyed it

The trade deadline for the NHL is this week and the playoffs begin next month. What would normally be peak hockey gaming time in these forums and elsewhere in the cyber hockey world has turned into tumbleweed and fans left without a viable option for their next gen console hockey fix.

Re: How often are you playing NHL 15 next gen now?

I understand that there are several people frustrated with the game. I am one of the ones who was supremely disappointed at launch, and to be frank, I am still disappointed with how this game plays vs CPU (the CPU plays far too mechanical) but I've been loving the human vs human experience. The thing that frustrates me on these forums is when I see people making complaints that don't make sense or are simply untrue. There's lots to dislike, but the hyperbolic complaints such as "Crosby feels the same as a 4th line AHL player" are simply humorous. Applying a training card in HUT is all you need to do in order to realize that ratings make a difference in the game. I've played about 250 games online in HUT and I can guarantee you that player ratings DO matter, but they're not the be-all end-all. User skill can offset player ratings in certain situations. ie: I have won the Division 1 title multiple times despite never spending a dime to get any Legend or TOTW cards. I can win the title with affordable gold-level players like Ondrej Palat, Matt Moulson, Frederik Andersen, etc. But if I was fielding a team of AHL or CHL players I would be getting roasted due to a lack of speed, puck control, physicality and shooting accuracy. Yes, I would be able to score the odd cheesy goal, but I wouldn't be able to win the title against guys who have first lines of Bossy-Gretzky-Bure. Applying a +7 skating or shooting to any of your players should be enough proof that ratings can change the outcome of a game. I have Nikita Kucherov on my top line in HUT (base overall rating of 81). with 4 training cards he turns into a 88 overall animal who can't be stopped.

I'm rambling at this point but the point is that player ratings do matter, they're just not the ONLY thing that matters.
