It always amazes me how many people are so happy to fall into the same trap again, again... and again... and... 😀

That's humanity in a nutshell Lol

Not falling for nothing. If my requests are not meet then I won't buy this years game either. But I'll tell you this, if they give me the ability to create my own stuff. I will spend hours upon hours on that alone.

Yeah would be great.

The creation tool app was "on the table" at the time when I was in the studio, as well as authentic historic (online) seasons and many other truly awesome other stuff that I was very excited about (that time)

So the reason why we don't get these great things is not that they don't know what we want or how to make people like you or me happy, but because t.h.e.y. d.o.n.t. c.a.r.e. (about us)

They don't need another "feedback channel" Lol
To believe that is pretty ridiculous, if you ask me... especially after all these years.

It is obviously pure PR thing (at this point)

They do actually think they got us hockey people anyway.

They intentionally chose to put resources on things like 3s, 1s etc. and tried to make the non hockey people buy their product.

And that's because it's generally and probably true. A hockey fan has no other option so if you want to buy a hockey game, you buy what they release. In the long run they will alienate some core fans though as we are experiencing...

The next problem is the amount of resources needed to produce a modern game and the size of the pool of potential buyers. Remember like every business it's all about making money. Sadly... The number of hockey fans in the world is also low compared to sports like football/soccer so it sounds reasonable that they try to expand that pool by putting out something that they think might attract people outside of the pool in order to make money. And that tend to be arcade action packed stuff... Generally...

That and micro transactions does kind of make sense from a business perspective.

Until there are options that the fanbase will actually pursuit so that it is noticed in sales, they will keep doing it this way, I guess. They will throw in a bone or two each year - I'm pretty sure they still don't want to disappoint the core fans too much - but never concentrate only on the real hockey fans as like you said, they have them already.

This along with the modification possibilities and playing on PC is why I fully support your 2KHS work DJNEO. It's the best alternative.

What I do still not understand though, is why they still leave out the PC market. There are hockey fans that would buy the game as is if it was on PC and steam. Unless it's still the piracy card...

That’s not exactly true ..... stay with NHL 20, it’s not necessary to buy NHL 21. Lesser sales the only way to give them pressure.

Well yeah. If you already have NHL20. You're right.

But for me personally the last time I bought an EA game it was a used version of EA Hockey for Sega Mega Drive. Yeah the original game.

The last bought "modern title" was like 14 or 15 or something.

I don't have a current gen console and don't think it's worth to get one just for what EA ships out. All other games I want are available on PC.

For me these are the things I want most out of a hockey game:

1. Realistic gameplay.
2. Good season mode.
3. Modding/editing capabilities of everything in the game, no locked players, looks, anything, you should be able to change anything and import textures etc...
4. Gameplay, AI, Logic, etc sliders for tweaking.
5. PC release.

Well, I would be surprised if EA don't release the "nextgen" version of NHL on PCs, which is NHL 21?

But I'm still surprised that a man that knows so little about hockey can be in charge of it all so... who knows how that all ends.

Re: Official NHL 20 Feedback + Requests Form

Human goaltending, especially online, and more control of the position. During NHL '19, I had more (online) fun and it was enjoyable to play the position. This year, not only has control been taken away, it's been the most frustrating and anger-filled position to play. Automation is killing this game, and the fun factor.
