Played my first game, Devils-Hawks season opener, full-sim settings, all-star level no slider tweaks. Lost 2-1, shots were 22-21 for the Hawks. It wasn't too bad tbh, once we get better rosters with player separation from the fine gents who do that kind of thing, it'll be even better.

The rink is too dark though, wasn't a fan of that. Plus, come on, how does Dougie Hamilton not have his face in the game yet? The NBA has it's full 450 player field in the game down to the exact tattoos, yet we can't get even 450 real faces in this game without tattoos? Come on guys, get better.

I'm downloading on PS5 - there was a connection to the EA Play trial from my PS5's home screen, so I didn't do the usual process of going through the game's product page. Under Explore, look and see if you have anything that says "Get more NHL 22" - that's where I downloaded it from.

Won't be playing until tomorrow most likely because potato internet. It's 40 GB.

Defensive play is so much better than before. The stick physiques finally make a difference on tip ins and poke checks.

The ice looks amazing (I'm playing on the Series S) and the player models look a bit better, while the crowd still looks like ****. But the jerseys (especially during close ups) finally move and look like the real thing, you can even notice the fight strap on the back.

Overall, this is light years better than NHL 15 debut on X1/PS4. I'm glad they took an extra year and didn't rush a next-gen version last year.

As a long time NHL player, I am actually very impressed this year. The presentation is engaging (would love to see more sports games embrace AR - never thought I would say that, but it's nice) and the graphics have made a BIG leap.

Too early to weigh in on gameplay.

I felt the ice looked better on the ps5 v the series X but look gorgeous. I only played 1 game of online versus on both. I enjoyed it. The stat overlays on the ice were slick.

Strange thing, online is perfect smooth, but when playing offline is not perfect smooth, i see microstuttering.
Someone else noticed this ?
I think is the movement of the back of the jersey, is not perfect smooth but only offline !!!
