Re: Side Control/ Crucifix tips

To the people saying it's too strong, no it's not. Side control is SO EASY to escape from that you can virtually prevent them from even getting the chance to put you in that position. Once in the crucifix (with a proper understanding of the stamina drain cycle your opponent is about to attempt) you can escape fairly easily without taking too much of a knock on stamina.

Re: Side Control/ Crucifix tips

I had a Weidman mirror match a little bit ago and a guy kept me in these positions for the majority of 2 full rounds. He didn't even take me down, he ended up sweeping my leg when I was kicking both times. I guess it's progress that I managed to survive lol.

I don't understand why I'm so bad at denying the crucifix. My denial rate is pathetic.

Re: Side Control/ Crucifix tips

I made a thread about this on the old forums, and I think it's perfectly balanced if you take your time and don't panic. Even if they are good at holding you down, just let them strike a few times/Throw in some Fakes and it's so easy to get out.

The real skill takes holding a person in that spot a getting a KO with it.

Never waste your stamina first of all. If you get put in with no stamina already and he doesnt suck its over. So if you do havr stamina, dont waste it, wait for them to strike and than transition. If it doesn't work dont los patience and try again using a fake. Once you waste stamina its over
