Re: Anybody else experiencing difficulty with the ground game?

Have a thread where I also expressed the same problem basically.

I was pretty good at reversals on the last game and now I can't reverse anything with consistency. I'm like gunshy to even grapple now because I can't block most takedowns unless I'm standing completely still doing nothing else on the controller. Even then, I can't get back up from under the AI alot of the time, which is fine I like that they are smart but man, the reversal window seems way too small or something.

I'm pre emptively calling out loud to others what the AI is about to do to me and yet I still can't stop them. Like other people can see my hands and whatnot, we're all sort of amazed by the regularity at which it fails me compared to UFC 2. It's not really a reaction time thing, because when it works i'm doing it the exact same way as when it doesn't. So I have no idea what it is man. It's more prominent in Career, but it shows up in fight now too.

Likewise, I hope it is patched day one. I look forward to Career mode and playing online but I just saw a match where Kinetic was getting destroyed standing by a guy (forgot name, Mcsomething) and proceeded to get a rear naked choke with Tony Ferguson from back control and finished the fight.

It feels that at high levels this type of cheese will be commonplace.

How is getting a RNC with a submission specialist cheese? Was he spamming subs? Or did he get dropped and use better ground work to recover, get the back and get the tap?

I'm pretty sure subs are fairly balanced in a PVP sense (most sub attempts I've seen have been escaped, so they're not as OP as the beta, where you couldn't escape vs anyone with half a grain of skill)

Its just the AI is, by the sound of it, is too good a grappler at lower difficulties and way to good at subs on all difficulties.

I think the complaint is that the subs themselves are too hard to escape no matter what. I haven't played the minigame enough to attest to that but it is terrible that you have to wait until the later levels to escape the sub. The developers just aren't listening to us on that front.

Yeah, it's really dumb that it's easier to get out of a fully locked RNC than a loose one.

Yes, it's realism vs gameplay/excitement apparently. So again: it's great that you can't just get out of any submission attempt, but if the stats are in your favor you should escape easily (barring flash subs).

I think the submissions are perfect the way they are. Tons of people are escaping subs against me and I’m doing the same.

I think people just don’t understand how to escape them in UFC 3. if they nerf the subs anymore there going to be worthless.

Right now there in a perfect place and it gives the ground game some danger.
