I love the demo, definitely buying the full release. Atmosphere for games at the Non Camp was almost perfect, among the best I've experienced in a video game.

Yeah, there are too many chip passes. Looks cool but in fact is not realistic.

Pes2019 looks graphically very nice with the new grass and lightning, but still have a lot of the same problems. Horrible impact engine (always with premade animations), lag in the gamepad controls, the defensive system still very basic, the fatigue is very bad implemented (all players run the same with the stamina bar at full than at minimun), a lot of IA problems (the cpu never shoots from long range or try individual chances of goal, always pass-pass-pass...), the cpu golkeepers in 1vs1 situations still on de goal line,...etc

Speaking of 4K, I wonder how this is going to affect option files. For example, if there will be an option to upload super-HD kits in exchange for having fewer kits. We already have something similar for 1024 vs. 2048, but I have a feeling those 1024 kits aren't going to cut it anymore, at least not on a 4K screen.

18 was HDR/4K on the PS4. I don’t think the newer capable 4K/HDR Xbox was around during the development so it couldn’t be optimized.

I do know that when I boot up ‘18 on the PS4 and switch imports to the XB1 its like night and day. Then you boot up ‘19 and it’s like “DAMN!”.

I have no clue who's telling the truth. One is saying it was neither HDR or 4K, another poster is saying it was both?

Adam Bhatti says one but not the other.

All I know is PES 19 seems to have both 4K and HDR. HDR alone might make me turn my 18 copy in and buy 19. Hope the kit creators can keep up - wish Premier League and La Liga jersey name and number fonts were in the game. As good as the kits can be, when a player turns around and you see that ****ty Arial basic font kind of kills the immersion.

Yeah, it is possible that 18/4K was available on the PS4 Pro and not the XB1, I'm really not sure. Konami's website is hyping it up like it's the first time but it's vaguely worded and may just pertain to the XB1.

I never saw the HDR boot icon in 18 and I see it on the 19 demo. If 18 is HDR I'm not getting it with my setup.

Totally agree about the generic kit fonts, they're an immersion killer. Liverpool has generic name fonts in the 19 demo so it's possible nothing has changed, I'm guessing they're licensed to the league and not the team?

I still don’t know why pes doesn’t even have number outlines. That and shorter shorts would be great in edit mode. Looking forward to playing in a fully lit field in pes.

Outlines on the numbers would be great and I can't believe they don't have it. Last time a PES game had this was PES 2008 I think. Crap game but good editing and more number styles too. I'm sick of the same styles every year, half of them I hate and don't use.

I don't think it has because I played yesterday and there was a situation where all of my defenders immediately retreated towards my box and the opponent I was playing raced through midfield without a player close to him. Needless to say he scored because of it. I'm sure I could have done something better defensively to stop it, but the back tracking was the main reason the goal was given up.

These 5 minute halves against the CPU just make it so damn hard to judge though. In past years we've at least had 10 minute halves. Last year I jumped the gun and got it on day one. I played the game for probably 8 hours total because the back tracking bugged me so much, so this year I will wait. There is so much give take with the game.

Positives

Gameplay: my goodness this blows FIFA out of the water minus the back tracking. Just to show off the smarts of the best players and dynamic AI, here is a situation I faced. I was playing Liverpool. They sent a ball over the top to Mane on the edge of the box. He was in a position to one-touch with momentum heading towards my goal. Instead Mane does an ever so slight header to Firmino who was just next to him. I played it thinking Sane was going to one-touch and try to dribble past my defender for a shot or cross. The slightly headed pass took me off guard and Firmino had an easy 1 v 1 with the keeper. My jaw dropped by the skill and smarts of the AI in that situation. I truly think it's the smarts of Sane that made the play and if it was a lower rated guy, he wouldn't have made that decision or would have screwed up the touch all together. I don't think I'd see something like that in FIFA.

Ball physics: Always has killed FIFA in this department. Just awesome seeing the deflections and ball spins that go out for throw-ins, goal kicks, and corners.

Passes and skills: Awesome seeing the best players in the game pull off amazing link up plays. Also, I like seeing less accurate CPU passing. I am nowhere near talented enough to pull off any sort of moves or skill passes. It's something I've always needed to learn but I don't know if I have the stick skills. I also hate the PS4 controller but it's the system I play it on due to the option files.

Lighting: Holy crap! The lighting and graphics are just amazing. As mentioned I was on regular PS4. Afterwards, I played FIFA 18 on regular Xbox one. FIFA looked so grainy and dull. It was just crazy the difference in coloring and graphics. Maybe adjusting FIFA visual settings may help, but I'm not sure that's the issue.

Negatives, besides the already mentioned back tracking.

Goalies: I just cannot put my finger on it but I have never liked goalie animations in PES. There is just something about it. Maybe I'm too used to FIFA, but I love the reactions from goalies in that game. After playing FIFA 18 after this demo, it confirmed my belief on that.

Slide tackling: While I feel it's better than last year, I still hate how far players slide in certain situations. If you miss a slide tackle sure there should be fouls, but I just don't feel it should be possible that you take down a player who was not even in the play, and was a long distance from the guy you were trying to slide tackle. It's always annoyed me. Idk, maybe it's just me.
Goalkeepers are still not leaving their line to narrow the angle of the attacker. That's still a problem. 1 on 1 situations, 99 % of goalkeepers come off their lines to close the gap between the attacker and make the goal smaller by closing down to the attacker.

Also goalkeepers are needlesly and unrealisticly deflecting the ball out with their feet when a shot comes up from long range and a regular keeper would have 99.5 % percent will use his hands to parry it. Using the legs with goalies should be limited to close range shots as in real life.

Another unrealistic save animation is the goalkeepers' plonging (gathering the ball with two hands without bouncing it off) hard shots. Even if they attempt to gather it with full hands they should have bounced them off a little bit to make it realistic. OR parry them which will be fully realistic.

I agree with your comments, well put. Just wanted to add these
