(PROBLEM SOLVED): how to make the QB scramble!

NFL 2K5 has a small number of "unfixable" problems (AI Draft and trade logic for one) which somewhat hold it back from its predecesors; one of those being the QB's inability to scramble the football. Strangely, this was not a problem at all in 2K4, where QB's like mike vick would easily get 50-100+ yards a game.

this problem has finally been fixed and it is strictly through ratings. no special playbooks needed!

-put scrambling, stamina, and aggressiveness at 99-127 (anything past 99 is experimental)

    -lower pass read to 10-15

-(you may want to increase the pass accuracy and strength to compensate for the lower read ability)

in practice mode, you will see that the QB will scramble on virtually every passing down, but this balances out much better in a live game because stamina becomes a factor and forces the QB to pass regularly. try it with mike vick and tell me what you guys think.

    can anyone confirm this?...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

It is confirm. If you have an AR you can download my rosters with these edits on EDITING ATTRIBUTE PLAYERS PROBLEMS thread. The name of the file is grunt and Mike Vick will run and run often. If you use team sliders and gameplan you will be playing against a very mobile qb.

I also use these edits on other mobile qbs.

I have been trying this theory out for a about two weeks now since hearing about it (about 20 games total). But the QB (Vick) still doesn't scramble that much (maybe twice a game). So I don't know.

I played the falcons yesterday in franchise and Vick ran 4 times for 55 yards and a TD. I used team sliders and game planning adjustments.

terribly sorry i forgot to mention that i did use candyman's v6 roster and capa's Defensive speed/tackle/agility edits.

            "O Line and DT’s – Speed 15-30, Agility 15, Tackle 15 (for DT’s)
            DE’s – Speed 25-40, Agility 25, Tackle 25
            LB’s – Speed 45-65, Agility 45, Tackle 35
            FS’s & SS’s – Speed 75-80, Agility 60, Tackle 25-35
            CB’s – Speed 80-85, Agility 75, Tackle 15"

i also used default all-pro settings with the pursuit slider set to about 16

I'm the one who noticed it and it helps if you have the coverage slider be a tick larger than the passing slider.

The only attribute you have to adjust is the aggression rating. The Scrambling rating is only for how accurate a QB throws on the run. Adjusting the stamina is only good if you want him to run on every play and not take a rating hit.

So you're saying that your adjustments make players tackle (or lack there of) like in 2K4?

Ok sportsgeist, you say all we have to do is increase or decrease the QB's aggresion? I'm a tad confused here.

these are capa's edits, not mine. they make the defense not so dominant in general. allowing the CPU offense to balance itself out, and play well against you, without the need to jack up the offensive ratings much at all.

as for aggression, it definitely plays a big part in allowing the QB to scramble. although i have not tested the aggression rating soley on its own, i have found great success with the pass read at 10-15, and the aggression, stamina, and scrambling near 99. i'm sure stamina plays an equally big role in allowing the qb to scramble too because in practice mode (with rating edits), the qb scrambles on nearly every play
