Same here man. I get the 3 football games each year (NCAA, Madden, ESPN) and hold no loyalty to just one company. I will call a spade a spade if you know what I mean. I will give props for something that is done well, but not turn a blind eye to something that either company just "dropped" the ball on. When it comes to videogames, I have been playing since the Atari 2600, and man we have come along way. Guys don't know how good they got it today (just showed my age a little..lol).

Seems today, guys are looking for the "holy grail" of sports games. It is not going to happen. Each game is going to have its good/bad points. And what those points are, depends upon the individual. Sure, some glitches are agreed upon across the board, but you get my meaning.

Well, just my 2 cents. Cya on the boards man...

I hear ya man. I am about to start my Illini dynasty in NCAA, but ESPN has consumed me since it came out. Madden comes out next week also, so the Illini will have to hold on a little longer...lol

Talking Re: Does Anyone Practice?

yea it almost seems like some gamers are spoiled.

IF u suck then practice. How hard is that ?

a lot of people that are new to the series have no idea how to move the player they just hold down a direction full tilt and it screws half their plays from the start. Player movement is so important and you have to slightly move your guys with precise turns - not jam the controller in any direction (which will cost you like a second by starting the cutback animation plus kill your momentum)

people haven't even taken the time to learn player movement, and they are whining.

I say if u do not enjoy the game then do not play - it is supposed to be fun.
there are a ton of sliders , like 4 difficulty settings, practice modes and training modes... find a way to enjoy it or ditch it ...

If I'm not mistaken Nolefan, u can select AI playcalling from the practice menu. You can select defensive or offensive depending upon which side u want 2 practice on and I think it's fairly random. The AI will call a different defense depending upon the formation u choose. I just tried it and it worked fine. On the defensive side of the ball, u need to have your audibles set in order to counter the offensive playcalling. The offense will choose any formation regardless of what defensive set u r in. So in that regards, the AI randomly selects the offensive set but u have to adjust if u have to with an audible.

Yeah, I know it will do that but what I meant was that the AI will call random plays for both sides and you execute them.

This might sound silly but I spend a hour a day on practice mode. Then I go to online or play my franchise. I use custom camera and put my settings on 12, 8, 4 (starting from the top) I call this my game film camera view. I get to see the whole field. I run a play and then go to replay and break it down. I spend more time playing defense in practice mode and I set the offense on diffrent passing plays.

You see the good and the bad but I understand the bad better. There is a certain randomness in this game. I notice that every once in a while my all pro roy williams would make a poor play. Maybe a less than stellar angle but for the next 4 plays he would shut it down. The same play I run over and over in practice mode. I dont know if the game is program like that on purpose or by mistake but the result is a realistic game of football.

I know some these guys that complain about db ai ( which is not perfect) dont ever go in practice mode. I am very happy with this football sim but some guys dont realize practice make perfect.

Peace
