RED RAIDERS MAKING HISTORY OFF THE FIELD AS WELL AS ON!!!

3 Straight Big 12 titles and 3 National Titles in the past 4 years riding a 23 game winning streak since Week 4 of last season and a 67-5 record since Coach Scott arrived in Lubbock, has made TTU the #1 destination for high school recruits across the nation most most importantly those hailing from the state of Texas.

Still with 2 weeks to go in the regular season, it appears that Coach Scott and the TTU recruiting team have pretty much wrapped up their season as they secure 7 more commitments including a pair of 5* Recruits bringing this year's total to 20 (10-5* and 10-4*). The Class is currently ranked #1 with a score of 271.75.

Ohio State is #2 (1-5*, 16-4*), well Miami FL is #3 (4-5*, 8-4*, 1-3*)

Joining team are

5* DE Calvin Dalton (#27 Overall/#6 TX/#5 DE) from Lurfkin TX and 5* Kenyon Canaday (#8 Overall/#1 IL/#2 DE) from Lombard IL as well a 4* DT Kona Okada (#38 Overall/#1 WA/#9 DT) from Yelm WA. These 3 now give Coach Scott 7 incoming recruits for a D-Line that has been having a record setting season in terms of sacks already.

TTU also added a pair of 4* for the secondary as 4* CB John Masifilo (#65 Overall/#12 TX/#7 CB) and 4* FS Max Worthy (#76 Overall/#13 TX/#5 FS) are both joining.

Coach Scott wasn't done there though as a bring in 4* QB Raekwon Segal (#125 Overall/#6 MD/#4 QB) as well as RT Nick Longoria (#91 Overall/#15 TX/#6 RT).

TTU also landed a trio of 4* WR's and a 4* TE

6'4 Tye Tompkins (#39 Overall #2 LA/#3 WR)
6'3 Isaac Trapp (#53 Overall #9 TX/#7 WR)
6'2 Ben Magana (#54 Overall/#10 TX/#8 WR)

6'2 Donald Chancey (#97 Overall/#5 PA/#7 TE)

Early season reports, recorded Coach Scott stating he was looking to secure a 20 player class, with 2 open roster spots plus 9 Seniors as well as potential Transfers and Early NFL entries. However reports are Coach Scott still has 5 scholarships offered to players including 1 more 5* Recruit in WR Carl Chunn (#6 Overall/#1 GA/#1 WR). The 6'5 203lb Riverdale GA native currently has TTU #1 but has scholarship offers from West Virginia, Nebraska, UConn, Notre Dame, Purdue, Georgia and Memphis but has yet to narrow his list of schools from 8.

Coach Scott
Quote:
"We are extremely excited about this year's class. Obviously we have landed some pretty amazing talent here (Top-20 every year, Top-5 the past 3 years and a previous #1 class) but this year's class is one that will be for the record books. We will have some tough decisions to make next year especially at WR if Chunn ends of signing but we believe this class will help us continue to reload with the type of talent to compete for National Titles every year.."

WELCOME BACK KING FELIX!!

Texas Tech got some reinforcement's for today's came as 5* RS FR WR Felix Addison and 5* RS JR CB John Baggett make their return after missing the past 6 weeks with injuries, and Addison wasted little time making his presence known.

GAME RECAP

TTU opened up the game and the scoring as Vildor hits Felix Addison for a 42 yd bomb to put the Red Raiders up (7-0) early, then with 2:38 to play after a John Baggett INT, Texas Tech extended the lead as Vildor hits fellow 5* WR Brian Head on a 23 yd score to make it (14-0).

Coach Scott
Quote:
"It was good to see both John and Felix make some plays early in the game as they both look to help us finish strong."

Hitting the trifecta, Vildor finds another former 5* RS SO WR Rico Hatfield on a 10 yd score to make it (21-0) with 3:30 to play in the 1st half and for the icing in the cake TTU makes it (24-0) as Doug Khaled kicks a 45 yd FG to 1:15 to play as the Red Raiders head into the locker room up by 24.

Oklahoma State opened up the 2nd with with the ball and settled for a 49 yd FG by Clayton Cantrell just to get points on the board (24-3). But with 5:59 to play in the 3rd, it was Vildor to Addison for their 2nd hookup of the day (10 yds) as TTU extends the lead to (31-3).

A Vildor INT with 3 minutes to play in the 3rd leads to Oklahoma State's first TD of the day, as JR QB Peter Gibbs (82 ovr) hits JR TE Matt Landry (80 ovr) for a 12 yd score to make it (31-10).

Moving to the 4th, Vildor and Addison hook back up for their 3rd TD's of the day (9 yds) as TTU extends the lead to (38-10).. Oklahoma State never giving up manages another score as SR RB Joel Yates (80 ovr) takes it in from 13 yds out after the OSU Defense picks off Vildor for a 2nd time in the game to make it (38-17) but Vildor and Addison were not done as the duo hooks up for TD #4 (12 yds) as Texas Tech cruises to win #11..

FINAL SCORE TTU-45 OSU-17

UP NEXT

Texas Tech will close out it's regular season the same way they have the previous 4 years, playing the Baylor Bears in Week 13. Unlike last year, Baylor has struggled this season going just (3-8) Overall and just 1-6 in Big 12 play.

Even if Baylor manages to upset the Red Raiders, TTU's win over Oklahoma State has secured them the Big 12 North Title for the 4th straight year.

Coach Scott
Quote:
"Our goal remains the same week in and week out. Take care of business with the team in front of you. If we look past Baylor and start focusing on the Big 12 title game or the playoffs, that's when upsets happen.

VILDOR MAKES STATEMENT IN HEISMAN PUSH!!

With rumors of TTU QB "GNK" potentially turning pro after his Junior season, 5* Recruit and Ontario California native Freddie Vildor accepted TTU's offer to following in his footsteps taking the reigns and leading TTU for the next 4 years.

Instead Vildor's first season in Lubbock was a view from the sidelines as he redshirted and watched GNK lead the Red Raiders to their 3r National Championship well winning his 2nd Heisman award.

Vildor then watched as Senior QB Stetson Hollman started Week 1 and threw for 7 Touchdowns in TTU's 63-0 victory over Wyoming.

But Vildor knew, once he got his moment to shine he wasn't giving it back and well Vildor's freshman season hasn't been as stat filling (5000+ yds and 60 TD's) as GNK, today's performance just showed the world he could actually be the best QB to ever suit up for the Red Raiders and that list includes 1 Patrick Mahomes.

GAME RECAP

Texas Tech opened up the game scoring on a 39 yd TD run by RB Sean Byham (his 8th of the season) to take a early (7-0) lead but then the game become all about Freddie Vildor as the Redshirt Freshman scores a record 8 TD's (4 passing and 4 rushing) to guide TTU to a perfect 12-0 season.

Vildor completed pass's of 51 yds to Brian Head, as well as a pair of TD's to TE Kevin Pickering (25 and 23) to give TTU the (28-0) lead at the half.

Vildor then used his feet for 2 rushing TD's in the 3rd Quarter including a 43 yd scamper on 3rd and 8 to make it (42-0) as we head to the 4th.

Baylor finally manages to get on the scoreboard to open the 4th after SO QB Sateki Vakapuna stops throwing the ball to Red Raider defenders (3 earlier INT's) as he hits TE R. Long on a 2 yd score to finish the night 12/29 for 111 yds with 1 TD and 3 INT.

For Vildor he wasn't done as he adds 2 more rushing scores as he finishes the day over 100 yds for the 2nd time this season extending Texas Tech's lead to (56-7) and then with 1:12 to play Vildor hits Byham out of the backfield for a 13 yd score.

FINAL SCORE TEXAS TECH-63 BAYLOR-7

KEY PLAYERS

QB F. Vildor-19/39 (63%) 276 yds 4 TD, 3 sacks, 10 carries 124 yds 4 TD
RB S. Byham-13 carries 86 yds 1 TD, 3 rec 34 yds 1 TD
RB JJ Robert-7 carries 36 yds
WR B. Head-4 rec 81 yds 1 TD
WR B. Addison-5 rec 71 yds
WR R. Hatfield-1 rec 28 yds
TE K. Pickering-5 rec 58 yds 2 TD
INT's J. Baggett, G. Adebo, A. Dennard

HEISMAN RACE

With today's performance, Vildor skyrockets from #3 to #1 in the Heisman talks.

He has passed for 3097 yds (64% COMP) with 37 TD and 9 INT well rushing for 454 yds matching Byham for a team high 8 TD's, well leading TTU with the #1 scoring offense in the nation (42.8 PPG)

WEEK 13 AROUND THE NATION RECAP

Week 13 offered some major impact to the Top-25 Rankings as several teams played their way into a potential playoff spot well others potentially played their way out.

#4 (9-2) Oregon met #6 (10-1) Washington in a Pac-12 North showdown with the Division title on the line and a probable Top-4 seed as well, with the Huskies coming away from Eugene with the (28-25) victory as Oregon drops to #5 well the Huskies climb to #3.

#3 (9-2) Nebraska closed out their season with a non-conference matchup with rival (9-2) Iowa and the Hawkeyes picked up the (52-41) upset win dropping the Cornhuskers to #10 with the loss.

Nebraska wasn't the only one to fall in Week 13 from the Big 12, as #7 (9-2) Kansas State also lost falling to Houston (31-21) as the Wildcats drop to #15 and are most likely out of any chance at a playoff spot.

#18 Colorado however was on the opposite end. The Buff's also entered Week 13 at (9-2) and won beating New Mexico State (37-3) for their 10th win of the season as they jump 5 spots to #13 giving them a outside shot at a At-Large bid as Nebraska holds the tie breaker and will still play TTU for the Big 12 title.

CUSA saw both of their Top-10 teams lose in Week 13 as #5 (11-0) Tennessee's perfect season is over after a (36-31) loss to instate rival Vanderbilt, dropping the Vols to #17.

#8 (10-1) Louisville followed suit losing to instate rival Kentucky (38-13) as they drop all the way to #20.

Several teams came out winners in Week 13 as they move up into the Top-12 as they look to position themselves for a seat at the playoff table.

#9 Duke jumped 5 spots to #4 as they finish the year (10-2) with a 27-24 win over Charlotte.

#15 James Madison jumps to #8 as they finish the season (11-1) with a 27-25 win over Liberty.

#11 Boise State jumps up 5 spots to #6 as they close out their year with a (38-37) win over Utah to finish 9-3 on the year. (Beat Oregon, but lost to Washington)

#10 Miami jumped 3 spots to #7 with a 31-14 win over Tulane to finish 9-3 Overall.

#14 Bowling Green jumped 5 spots from #14 to #9 as they close out the year (11-1) with a 27-21 win over Ball State.

#13 Penn State defeats Pitt (35-7) to finish 9-3 Overall and move to #12 . But the Nittany Lions will miss the Big Ten Championship as #14 Ohio State beats Cincinnati (23-17) to win the division and a chance to take on #2 Michigan for the title and a shot at the playoffs.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

BIG 12

#1 (12-0) Texas Tech will take on #10 (9-3) Nebraska in a rematch of last year's title game. Can TTU make it 6 in a row against the Huskers or will Nebraska break the losing streak and earn a spot in the playoffs with the win?

BIG TEN

Good Old Fashion Hate as #2 (11-1) Michigan will take on #14 (9-3) Ohio State, as the Buckeyes look to pull off the upset and earn their way into the playoffs for the first time since 2025. These 2 teams didn't meet during the regular season.

ACC

#4 Duke lost the tie break losing to #19 UNC during the regular season, so the Blue Devils will sit at home with a playoff spot secured, well #8 (11-1) James Madison takes on the Tar Heels with a playoff spot and ACC title on the line.

PAC-12

#3 (11-1) Washington will face #11 (10-2) USC for the Pac-12 title and for USC most likely a playoff spot on the line. Neither team saw each other during the regular season, as the Huskies lone loss was out of conference to Boston College, well USC's loss's came at the hands of Stanford and UCLA.

SEC

It was a weird year in the SEC. Florida finished (8-4) Overall but went (6-2) in SEC play winning both tie breakers against #24 Georgia (8-4, 6-2) and #7 Miami (9-3, 5-3) to win the division. The Gators will take on #21 (9-3) Missouri who wins their first SEC Division crown .

AMERICAN

(10-2) Iowa upset Nebraska in Week 13 in a non-conference matchup, now they will look to win the title against (8-4) Rice.

CUSA

(9-3) Vanderbilt's win over #5 Tennessee earns them a spot in the title game vs (7-5) Notre Dame who like the Commadores went (7-1) in conference play, after going 0-4 out of conference.. A Conference Title would be huge for both programs, but I think even more so for the Irish who havn't made the playoffs in 4 years.

MOUNTAIN WEST

#18 (10-2) BYU will take on (9-3) Fresno State in a rematch of last year's title game in which the Bulldogs won and went on to secure a playoff spot. Is it the Cougars turn this year?

SUN BELT

#16 (11-1) UAB will take on (10-2) Jacksonville State. The Blazers are holding out hope a victory could propel them to a #12 seed, but with schools like #4 (10-2) Duke, #5 (9-3) Oregon, #6 (9-3) BSU and #7 Miami FL all not playing this week as well as #12 (9-3) Penn State and #13 (10-2) Colorado it could be tough to jump enough spots to claim a spot at the table. UAB has won 11 straight with their only loss coming in Week 1 to Kansas State (48-10)

MAC

#9 (11-1) Bowling Green will take on (8-4) Army for the title and a spot in the playoffs. The Falcons and Black Knights didn't meet during the regular season. BG's only loss this year was (31-27) to Iowa.

TEXAS TECH DOMINATES FOR 4TH STRAIGHT

#1 Texas Tech dominated the 3rd Quarter leading to the Red Raiders 6th straight win over Nebraska and 5th in 2 years well winning their 4th straight Big 12 title to finish the year a perfect (13-0) securing the #1 seed in the playoffs for a 3rd time.

GAME RECAP

For 2 teams that combined to score almost 100 points, the 1st Quarter wasn't one could of skipped as TTU scores on the opening drive, as RB Netori Morton returns to action with a 7 yd TD run to make it (7-0). The Cornhuskers answered back with a 39 yd FG to make it (7-3) as we head to the 2nd Quarter.

The scoreboard was on fire in the 2nd Quarter as both schools score 3 times with Nebraska setting for another 29 yd FG with 12 seconds to play to make it (28-20) at the half.

Fresh off a 8 TD performance against Baylor, Freddie Vildor threw 3 TD's in the 2nd Quarter including a pair to RS FR Brian Head (68 yd, and 48 yd) well also including RS SO Rico Hatfield (39 yd) in the action.

SR CB Brian Castillo comes up big with a INT of JR QB Andrew Isidora (90 ovr) to open up the 2nd half returning it 18 yds, before Vildor took over with his 4th TD of the day hitting JR TE Kevin Pickering for a 23 yd strike to make it (35-20).

TTU then extend the lead with another pair of scores as Netori Morton makes it a hat trick afternoon with his 2nd and 3rd rushing scores (49-20).

Nebraska answers back though as Isidora throws 1 TD and runs for another to cut the lead to (49-34) but Texas Tech wasn't done as 5* RB Sean Byham takes over for Morton and adds 2 scores with runs of 47 yds and 14 yds to close out the game..

THE QUEST FOR #4!!!

Texas Tech secures the #1 seed for the playoffs.. A Ohio State victory over Michigan (31-28) in the Big Ten Championship opens up the door for Pac-12 winner Washington (Beat USC 20-7) to secure the #2 seed.

James Madison took care of business against UNC (35-17) to win the ACC and finish the year (12-1). They secure the #3 seed for their efforts.

Bowling Green also finished the year (12-1) with a 48-10 win over Army to win the Mac Championship and their reward is the #4 seed.

UAB beat Jacksonville State (44-10) to win the Sun Belt and also finish (12-1). With the win the Blazers move up to #12 in the final rankings securing the #12 seed.

UAB will take on #3 (10-2) Duke who is given the #5 seed after not being a conference championship winner. The winner will advance to play #4 Bowling Green in Round 2.

#4 (9-3) Oregon is given the #6 seed and they will play #11 (9-3) Penn State who sneaks into the playoffs as the 3rd team from the Big Ten with the winner advancing to play #3 James Madison in Round 2

(11-2) Michigan drops from #2 to #5 with the loss to the Buckeyes and is given the #7 seed. Ohio State's with the win moves to (10-3) and secures the #10 seed as they will play Michigan once again for a chance at #2 Washington in Round 2.

#7 (9-3) Boise State secures the #8 seed for a 3rd time in the past 9 seasons. They will face #8 (9-3) Miami FL as the #9 seed. With the winner taking on Texas Tech in Round 2.

Besides BSU (2) and TTU (3) Michigan (2) is the only other team to have won more then 1 Championship during the dynasty.

Miami and Clemson are the only 2 teams to have won National Titles during the 9 years of this dynasty. So this year's playoff has 8 of the past 9 winners with 2 facing each other in Round 1 for the chance to play TTU who has won 3 of the last 4.

This is the 4th straight year Penn State has played in the Playoffs and this is the first time since 2026 that Ohio State has made the playoffs and it's just their 2nd Big Ten Title in 9 years.

This is Washington's first time in the playoffs, as well as Duke's, James Madison and Bowling Green.

This is Oregon's and Michigan's 7th time in the playoffs in 9 seasons, well Boise State has now played in 8 out of 9 (4 with Coach Scott and 4 without)
