Re: Circle The Wagons - Saving The Bills (Madden 10)

Bills Hold On - Nearly Blow 21 Point Lead

-------------
24-----------------16

Meadowlands, NJ (AP)
It wasn't pretty but the Bills were able to win once again. Trent Edwards connected once again with Terrell Owens for a TD (45 yards) but was held to 190 yards passing, something very few teams have been able to do so far.

Stats of Note-
Passing
Trent Edwards - 15/26 for 190 yards, 2 TD
- It isn't a record breaking day, but his solid play has earned him a lot of respect from opposing defenses.

Rushing
Marshawn Lynch - 76 yards on 24 carries 1 TD
- He isn't performing like an elite back but he has been solid - minus his fumbling.

Receiving
Terrell Owens - 6 catches for 96 yards and a TD -
- Owens continues to show that he hasn't gotten worse with age

Next Game
Bills (4-1)

vs.
Carolina Panthers (1-4), in Charlotte, NC

Re: Circle The Wagons - Saving The Bills (Madden 10)

Edwards Almost Gambles Away The Game

-------------
38-----------------31

Charlotte, NC (AP)
Now that Trent Edwards is getting noticed more and more by his dangerous passing attack there are going to be a lot more CBs licking their chops for an opportunity to make him look bad.

Chris Gamble took that chance, twice. He picked off Edwards twice in the game.

Edwards still managed to pass for 400 yards on 24/39 passing with 4 TDs (and 2 Chris Gamble INTs).

The biggest weakness of this Buffalo team this season has been and continues to be their rushing defense - allowing 238 yards and 2 TDs for Deangleo Williams will not do as the Bills get ready to enter into the second half of the 2009 campaign.

Stats of Note-
Passing
Jake Delhomme - 7/23 for 88 yards, 1 TD (30% Completion Percentage)
- We know that Edwards had a good game, but Jake Delhomme is starting to look like a ghost of the player that took the Panthers to a Super Bowl.

Rushing
Marshawn Lynch - 47 yards on 17 carries
- With his off-field issues and very mediocre performance, the Bills may start looking to draft a new HB.

Receiving
Lee Evans - 7 catches for 161 yards and a 2 TDs
- Evans coupled with Owens (8 Rec for 141 yards) are proving to be the most feared WR tandem in the NFL.

Next Game
Bills (6-1)

vs.
Houston Texans (5-2), in Buffalo, NY

Who Needs Defense? Buffalo Wins Shootout
Lynch Dislocates Elbow In Victory

-------------
51-----------------37

Buffalo, NY (AP)
Matt Schaub came into Buffalo trying to prove that Edwards isn't the only talented young QB to have a great 2009 season going.
He proved it with 443 yards on 29/41 passing with 4 TDs and 1 INT (128.3 Rating).

Trent Edwards was held to 16/33 passing for 239 yards and 2 TDs as the Houston defense kept him on his back for most of the first half.

Thankfully, Aaron Maybin was able to return the favor for the Bills with 5 sacks and 6 Tackles for loss.

The game was close until the middle of the 4th quarter when the Bills caused two special teams fumbles and returned both for TDs.

On a down side, the Bills have lost Marshawn Lynch indefinitely with a dislocated elbow. He has had enough problems holding on to the ball this season, so we won't be surprised if the Bills keep him on the shelf longer than the estimated 2-4 weeks.

Stats of Note-
Sacks
Aaron Maybin- 5 sacks
- Not only did Maybin sack Schaub 5 times, but he is now leading the NFL with 13 sacks (1 ahead of the Bengals' Robert Geathers). He is no longer a rookie flying under the radar.

Rushing
Marshawn Lynch - 51 yards on 13 carries
- Left the game with a dislocated elbow - not a good sign for a player with fumbling problems.

Receiving
Terrell Owens - 4 catches for 56 yards and 1 TD
- It was a quiet day for Owens, but he continues to find the endzone.

Next Game
Bills (7-1)

vs.
Tennessee Titans (4-4), in Nashville, TN

Re: Circle The Wagons - Saving The Bills (Madden 10)

Johnson and White Pose Major Threat This Week

If you were to say that the Bills have had a 'hard time' defending the run this season you would be understating one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

While the Bills have managed to make it to 7-1 this season there are many experts that believe their horrid defense will eventually crush their playoff dreams.

Yes, many people in Buffalo are already talking Super Bowl, but as the Titans found out last year, your record doesn't guarantee anything.

We will have to wait and see what happens as the Bills travel to Nashville and face a Titans team still in the hunt for the playoffs.

Re: Circle The Wagons - Saving The Bills (Madden 10)

We Told You So, Chris Johnson Runs Over Bills
Smashes Peterson's Record

-------------
36-----------------46

Nashville, TN (AP)
After allowing 130 yards in the first half everyone knew Chris Johnson was on the verge of something special. 174 yards later, he held the NFL Single Game rushing record.

The Bills were unable to keep up with their defensive letdown even with 476 passing yards and 5 TDs from Trent Edwards.

Not to mention the fact that Chris Johnson also had 140 yards and 2 TDs receiving - thats right... 444 yards and 4 TDs of total offense. THANK GOD they aren't in the AFC East.

Stats of Note-
Passing
Kerry Collins- 148.9 QB Rating with 266 yards and 4 TDs
- Apparently, no one got the memo that Collins is still solid at QB.

Rushing
Chris Johnson - 304 yards rushing, 140 yards receiving - 4 TDs.
- The most dynamic back in the NFL just put his name in the ballot box for MVP.

Receiving
Terrell Owens - 10 catches for 196 yards and 3 TDs
- Caught his 1000th career reception (543 behind Jerry Rice) and his 150th TD (46 behind Jerry Rice)

Next Game
Bills (7-2)

vs.
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8), in Jacksonville, FL
