Game Recap: This was a defensive battle and if it wasn't for an early pick 6 thrown by La Secla, this would have been a shutout for the Spartans. Early on, it looked as if Idaho would not have much trouble. The pick 6 put them up by a score at home. However, it soon became apparent that the Vandals would have trouble moving the ball. In fact, they never even really threatened the Spartans. The highlight of the game was P. Garcia, the defensive tackle picking up the fumble and rumbling for 28 yards and an icing-on-the-cake touchdown.

Coach's Comments: This one feels great! Let me tell you, that is what happens when we win the turnover battle! It was a grind it out game but a win feels really good right about now. We are playing much better right now and I think we can win our next game and close out the season on a high note.

Game Recap: What a shootout! A week after coming off a defensive battle this one was all offense. Turnovers were the key as the Bulldogs turned the ball over 5 times including one that CB R. Yell returned for 76 yards and a TD. The crowd was nervous at the end of the first quarter. With Louisiana Tech up by 10 this one looked to be heading the way of the Hawaii game. But the Spartan seniors refused to give up and had a monster 2nd quarter. La Secla lit up the Bulldog defense, having a breakout game in his final game as a Spartan. This was his first game this season in which he did not throw an interception.

Coach's Comments: What a great win for our seniors! I had a conversation with Jordan (La Secla) before the game and I told him, this is the last time you will ever wear that uniform. Make it special. And he did exactly that! That is the type of QB play that we needed all season. All in all, we end the season with two straight wins over conference opponents. Our younger guys should have some confidence as we head into next season. I am very proud of our seniors tonight.
