Dream Season Stays Alive, Tulane Defeats Southern Miss 55-38

Brent Comardelle celebrates after a 79 yard touchdown

New Orleans, LA -- Albert Williams went through many ups and downs on the season. Williams was a preseason All-American, but after getting to off to a slow start, followed by being sidelined for four weeks, Williams' season wasn't panning out as he had hoped. However, the senior running back came up big in the Green Wave's biggest game of the season to date. Williams started the game off with a bang, as he ran away from the Southern Miss defense for a 58 yard touchdown on Tulane's second play from scrimmage. For the day, Williams rushed for over 200 yards and scored three touchdowns.

"I have to give credit to my offensive line first of all. They were opening up holes big enough to drive a truck through all game long. That first TD to start the game got me in a groove and I felt like every time I carried the ball I could go the distance. It just feels really good playing like this in my second to last game of my career." - HB Albert Williams

A 73 yard touchdown pass from Ryan Griffin to Devin Figaro in the fourth quarter iced the Green Wave's 13th victory of the season. A back and forth affair turned into a 55-38 final.

Re: The Coaching Legacy of Sam Winters

Congrats on the perfect season. That's pretty solid. A couple more like that and maybe Tulane will get the call to replace someone like Vandy in the SEC.

Happy to see BSU get a BCS game as well. Hopefully they can beat Stanford.

With the way you are scoring points I expect a good matchup with USC and feel you will get the victory.

Getting ready to play now. I would be shocked if I won. I got pretty lucky against LSU, TCU, and Texas A&M, and I was playing defense myself in those games, and not super-simming defense. I know I still gave up a lot of points, but I felt like to be more realistic I should super-sim defense right now. I was still getting too may stops in those games in crucial moments, despite my defense rating being a C-.

I'm probably going to have to score 50+ to beat USC and their defense is going to be quite a bit better than any defense from C-USA.
