Re: Back in Black: A Raiders Story

Oakland, CA
-- The Raiders needed a huge victory against Kansas City to keep pace with the AFC West, and they got in playing great defense at home, topping the Chiefs 17-13.

Jason Campbell was pedestrian, but managed to not turn the ball over in a critical game. The legs of Darren McFadden once again powered the Raider offense, rushing for nearly 100 yards once again.

With the Chiefs leading 13-10 late in the 4th, all Kansas City had to do was pound the football, manage the clock, and at worse give the ball back to Oakland with no timeouts and a long field. However, Matt Cassel got greedy, forcing a pass that was intercepted by Tyvon Branch and returned 48 yards for the score.

Tvyon Branch, who returned from injury this week, turned out to be the game's unlikely hero. "It's good to be back" said a smiling Branch in the locker room. "I saw Cassel look my way, and thought to myself, there's no way he's gonna throw it my way, but he tried and I stepped in front of it and made a play. That's all you can ask for in this game you know, a chance to make a play."

The Raiders will get some rest and hopefully get some more players back off the injury list as their bye week commences. Rest easy Raider nation, the men in black are still alive!

Bummer for them..

Also, I posted the boxscore for the Seattle game, but it disappeared! Ugh.. I honestly don't feel like typing it all over again, so maybe later. Oh well.

Hmm, seems like OS was down for a while there, bummer.

Anywho, I updated all the standings and the injury report, including some MAJOR NFL ones, so be sure to check that out on the front page!

For the injuries on your front page you have Santana Moss listed twice with two different injuries - Did he just get destroyed twice? or are the Redskins down TWO different receivers for the year? (Along with London Fletcher - ouch)
