Re: Beginner Dynasty
Ed Wesley Racks Up 300 Yards On Way To TCU Win
Albuquerque, NM -- TCU enterd the contest as the #1 team in the country with the #1 defense in the country and #1 in turnover differentiation. They brought two heisman contenders in Ed Wesley and Jeremy Kerley. They displayed all of those in Saturdays 31-14 whipping of New Mexico. The game broke open after freshman Ben Skaer dropped the ball beautifully on the 4 yd line. Wesley then took the first handoff broke 3 tackles and sprinted all the way for 7. Austin would throw 3 interceptions on the day one of them a pick 6 to Tekerrein Cuba another one inside the 10 to Greg McCoy. The Lobos moved the ball well at times but dropped passes, interceptions and negative yard rushes killed many of their drives. Overall it was bad way to end the 2010 regular season especially for the seniors at home. In the postgame press conference Coach Redfoot would express some frustration, "I hate losing. Even more I hate losing big and being totally dominated on the field. We got to see in first person what a championship team looks like and saw we have a long way to go." When asked about giving up 300 yds to Wesley Coach Redfoot simply responded, "That pathetic." Gary Patterson's TCU team finishes the season a pefect 12-0 (8-0). No game was closer than 2 TDs and now barring any crazy BCS madness will be playing for all the marbles in January. New Mexico however falls to 6-6 (4-4) and will now see where they land in the bowls whether it is the Independence Bowl or the Armed Forces Bowl. **Don't wanna put up all the stats in a table just cuz how ugly this game was.... Re: Beginner Dynasty
Lobos Get Independence Bowl Invite
It's official Coach Redfoot's Lobos are going bowling! After putting together a 6-6 season the New Mexico Lobos will travel to Shreveport, LA on Tuesday Dec 28th to take on Mississippi State 6-6 (2-6). The Bulldogs biggest moment of the year came just a few weeks ago when they ended Arkansas's national championship hopes. However just like the Lobos they have had an up and down season. They opened the year going 1-3 before regrouping and finishing 5-3. Dan Mullen's team is led by QB Chris Relf who has put together a very solid season at the quarterback going 118-272 for 1433 yds 14 TD and only 6 INT. The true force of this offense comes on the ground via JUCO transfer Vic Ballard who on 388 carries has rushes for 1447 yds and 10 TDs. If the Lobos want to beat the Bulldogs they will have to find a way to slow down Ballard. On defense it KJ Wright who leads the team with 36 solo tackles. This should be a very interesting battle as New Mexico will try and knock off an SEC team. The Stage is Set: #1 TCU vs #2 Boise State No you read that right, the Frogs and Broncos are playing for the title. After so many years of battling the system these two underdogs find themselves on top of the college football world. Gary Patterson will try and finish off what has been a magical season for the Horned Frogs. On the other side Chris Peterson will try and get that long wanted title. Who would've thought that the Broncos would be standing here after losing by 10 to the Hokies to open the season. This game is guaranteed to be a battle to remember! BCS Bowls Orange Bowl: #4 Virginia Tech 12-1 vs #3 Wisconsin 10-1 Sugar Bowl: #15 Georgia 10-3 vs #7 West Virginia 11-1 Fiesta Bowl: #10 Oklahoma 11-2 vs #20 Pittsburgh 9-3 Rose Bowl: #6 Ohio State 11-1 vs #5 Oregon 11-1 Other Interesting Matchups Capital One Bowl: #8 Alabama 11-2 vs Michigan 7-5 Cotton Bowl: #19 Arkansas 10-2 vs #18 Nebraska 10-3 Chick-fil-a Bowl: Auburn 9-3 vs Florida State 9-4 Holiday Bowl: #16 Oklahoma State 9-3 vs #14 Washington 10-2 |

Re: Beginner Dynasty
Bulldogs Roll Over Lobos
Not much to say about this game besides the fact that Vick Ballard is a monster. He went for over 325 yds and had 3 TDs. Also set MSU season rushing record along with MSU single game rushing record. Only bright spot was 2nd All-American Peter Gardner who had 6 tackles 3 TFL and 2 sacks. New Mexico final record: 6-7 (4-4) finished with 3 game losing streak Mississippi State final record: 7-6 (2-6)

Re: Beginner Dynasty
TCU Are the Champs!
AP -- It's official the Horned Frogs are champs. After whipping Boise State 30-13 on January 10, 2010 there was no debate who the top dogs or frogs were. Gary Patterson's team was the only team to make it through the year without a loss. Even more impressive was the fact that no team even got close to them. Ed Wesley was given the title of MVP after the championship game. Wesley rushed for 124 yds on 40 carries for 2 TD. Andy Dalton was the definition of efficient going 25-28 through the air for 270 yds. Kellen Moore gave it his best shot going 26-40 for 339 yds and TD with only one pass picked off. But in the end it wasn't enough as TCU pulled away to take home their 2nd national title. Here's a look at the rest of the BCS bowls and the final top 25 rankings BCS Bowl Results Orange Bowl Virginia Tech 13 Wisconsin 17 - Clay rushed for 122 yds on 31 carries for 2 TD Sugar Bowl Georgia 41 West Virginia 38 - Bulldogs outscore Mountaineers 27-8 in 2nd half Fiesta Bowl Oklahoma 49 Pittsburgh 7 - Landry Jones dominates 13-20 270 yds 4 TD Rose Bowl Ohio State 31 Oregon 10 - No answer for Pryor 26-34 332 yds 4 TD Final AP Top 25

Re: Beginner Dynasty
Tough loss in your bowl game (and VT lost as well, smh). Looking forward to seeing the freshman class step onto campus and have an impact on next season.
