Re: Pittsburgh Steelers (Madden 12)

Erin Andrews article #2

Hey guys, i'm Erin Andrews from ESPN and here's my second article for the magazine NFL All Week that's covering all the action that goes on in the NFL.

So if you have any questions regarding your favorite NFL team or players don't hesitate and post them here in this thread and I'll make sure to take a look into them.

---------------------------------------------

Rookie starting quarterbacks

In this article, we will take a look at the rookies that are the starting quarterback of their team and see what kind of results they have been having so far after 8 weeks in the book. There are three of them: Andrew Luck, Ryan Lindley and Brandon Weeden.

Andrew Luck:

The next big thing at the quarterback position. No surprise here, he got picked first overall in the last draft by the Miami Dolphins who finished with a disappointing 3-12-1 season.

The Dolphins made him the starter right away. Luck missed 2 games (week 6 and week 7) because he got hurt in the beginning of the week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills. So far, he's 2-3 in game he's played in so that is not bad. He's 74/141 with 949 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Good for a 75.0 QB rating.

Look, the Dolphins finished dead last, last season so... they have a long way to go to become competitive again. Luck is the main deal and sooner or later, he'll become the face of this franchise. Daniel Thomas is still very young. This duo will be in Miami for a long time.

Ryan Lindley

In the shadow of Luck, Lindley had a good season for San Diego State before getting selected second overall in the last NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks who finished second to last with only four wins all season.

Ryan Lindley played in the first 5 games of the Seahawks this year. He should be back from an injury suffered in week 5. He, just like Luck, is 2-3 as a starter. He has a 59% completion rate (84 for 141) for 906 yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Let's just say, he's been better than Luck so far. Zack Miller is his favorite target so far this season.

Seattle is 2-5, sitting at 3rd in the NFC West so this season does not look that bright. But Lindley is definitely their starting QB for the next couple of years if he keeps playing like he did so far. Great composure for such a young guy with no experience.

Brandon Weeden

After being projected in the mid 20’s, Brandon Weeden managed to sneak up in the top 10 of the draftees getting picked by the Buffalo Bills at pick #9.

The Bills have a good running game with Tomlinson, Spiller and Jackson. This gives Weeden a break and he's been okay so far for the Bills. He's thrown for 1231 yards while having 6 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions. He's biggest accomplishment so far is without a doubt that victory against Pittsburgh.

Funny thing is that Weeden beat the Seahawks (Lindley) and the Dolphins (Luck). Let's say he's won the bragging rights so far !

This is it for the second article, I’m Erin Andrews and see you next time.

* Please post questions for the next article

Re: Pittsburgh Steelers (Madden 12)

overall looks good.. i have a oregon duck dynasty going and soon a 49ers one, well i already started it but havent had my first game yet. i will soon. trying to finish my college one..

I think from looking at your stats u need to maybe up the rushing sliders a tad, or lower interceptions. unless big ben just had one of those days,

First half highlights:
  • Very windy day in Pittsburgh, light rain also.
  • First play of the game, Bengals ball, Palmer gets sacked and loses the ball, Aaron Smith recovers and brings it back for 6.
  • 14 points scored after Bengals turnover by the Steelers in the half.
  • Palmer had one of the worst half of football I have ever seen...
Second half highlights:
  • Steelers took the game away in that third quarter with those 10 points.
  • Too little too late but Leon Hall brought back a pick for six points in the last quarter.
  • Jeff Reed is old but is still kicking the ball pretty damn good in those condition.
