Morgan Newton robbed of POTW

Apparently, 487 yards passing and five touchdowns isn't good enough.

After his performance on Saturday, Morgan Newton seemed like a shoe-in for SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Not so fast my friend. In a 59-7 victory over a FCS team, Mississippi State's Chris Relf threw for 202 yards, ran for 164 yards, and scored six touchdowns. To quote the 1981 Cincinnati Reds, who didn't make the playoffs that year despite having the best record in baseball, We Waz Robbed!

Kentucky players among semifinalists for major awards

Guy is thriving in Minter's 3-3-5, recording 87 tackles, three sacks, four picks, and two forced fumbles.

Rick Minter said he was bringing aggressiveness back to Kentucky's defense, and one player in particular is thriving in the system. Winston Guy is having a break-out season in his senior year and the writers have taken notice, as Guy has been named a semifinalist for the Bednarik, Nagurski, Thorpe, and Best Return Man Awards.

LaRod King was named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award while Taylor Wyndham was named a semifinalist for the Lombardi Trophy.

Kentucky lands another recruit

*** MLB David Gray (#54) 6'1", 249 lbs, East Moline, IL
Speed was the key to the linebacker corps this year, and the Wildcats grab another one Gray. With only one returning mike linebacker next year, the Wildcats have solidified that position by picking up three commitments. Gray was also receiving interest from Northwestern and Northern Illinois. Kentucky's recruiting class is currently ranked 41st by Rivals.

Nice dynasty so far. Glad to see someone with a more realistic dynasty and losing some games. The recruiting looks solid so far you got some nice 3 stars.

Appreciate it. I like my dynasties to be realistic to a point. Plus I'm a coach moder, so I'm at the mercy of my players.

This + 1000. Nothing turns me away from dynasties more than seeing someone go 11-1 in their first year with Arkansas State.

I'll third this.

And second that.

It's the big reason why I ended my Carolina Cruisers dynasty. I feel a dynasty isn't there to stroke your gamer ego. It's fun and more rewarding to take a bottom feeder or middle of the road school and watch them struggle early on, but build them up into a conference champion and possibly a national contender. It's definitely realistic to see some possible upsets, maybe even beating a ranked team with a 4-8 school, but constantly beating good teams 42-10 isn't a fun read at all.

I've liked this dynasty's setup from the get-go and was hoping it'd turn out realistic. It's definitely been that way!
