Re: Awakening the Sleeping Giant || A Washington Huskies Dynasty (NCAA 12)
Washington Rides the Polk Express to Win
Chris Polk carried the ball 39 times for 338 yards and 4 TD.
Corvallis, OR -- The keys to the Washington offense had been handed over to the future, freshman quarterback Nick Montana was in charge after it was announced Keith Price would miss the rest of the season with a broken wrist. He did not disappoint. Washington needed Montana, Polk, Kearse, Sefrian-Jenkins and every bit of offense they had in the tank to escape with a win, and that almost was not enough.
The maligned Washington defense did little to slow down the Oregon State offense. It took all Washington had to escape with a 49-42 win in a back-and-forth game that wasn't decided until the fourth quarter. A win is a win, but that doesn't mean Washington's head-coach Steve Sarkisian should be pleased.
"We were fortunate today. We knew with Nick under center we were going to have to ease him into the game and lean on the running game even more. Fortunately we have Chris and he put on a show. Our defense, though, left a lot to the imagination. It was a poor performance on that side of the ball and, like I said, we're lucky to have won the game." -Steve Sarkisian.
For most running-backs one 300 yard rushing game would be phenomenal. Two 300 yard rushing games would be one in a million. For Chris Polk, it's just another day at the office. Polk toted the rock 39 times and rolled up 338 yards and scored four touchdowns. Fellow offensive headliner Jermaine Kearse got in on the action as well, returning a kick-off for a touchdown for the fourth time of the season, and also had a receiving touchdown. Montana, in his first career start, was 13/18 passing for 264 yards and two touchdowns.

Appreciate it.
Christmas break for me started this past weekend so lots of free time right now. I also already had four or five games played before I started the thread. Had everything written down in a notebook, all the top 25 and Pac-12 scores, etc. haha. Lots of work. I was waiting for my new laptop before I started the actual thread, though.

I have a college rule notebook just for my dynasty. I actually flip through it for my stats rather than look up old threads. Have way more information in it that I EVER post, haha..
Nice to see others follow the same plan, of madness!

Man, that takes me back to my NCAA 2002-2005ish days before I knew places like this existed. I was doing a thorough cleaning of my room this summer and came across several legal pads and a couple of 50 page notebooks almost all full of old dynasty stats, standings, rankings, Heisman winners, results, recruiting classes, etc. I couldn't believe I used to literally write everything down like that.
