Re: The Music City Miracle is Back (Madden 13)
Scobee Kick Jaguars to Playoffs
Week 17 - 2012
Nashville TN
FINAL SCORE: JAC 25, TEN 22
Josh Scobee hit a 19-yard field goal as time expired to give the 10-6 Jaguars their first playoff birth since 2007. The Titans were held to 292 yards of total offense, 86 of which came on a pass play to rookie Kendall Wright 2:22 remaining in the game to tie the score at 22. Chris Johnson did return to play following his injury, but appeared to not be at 100% with only sixty-seven yard on twenty carries.
It was the Titans that got on the board first, with a Rob Bironas 34-yard field goal near the end of the first quarter. The Jaguars would respond with back to back touchdown drives, first a two-yard run with Maurice Jones-Drew and later a three-yard strike from Chad Henne to Greg Jones and with 3:26 left in the half, the Jaguars held a 14-3 advantage. Rob Bironas would cut that lead to eight as the half came to an end.
In the third quarter, the both teams struggled to get a solid drive together before Chad Henne and the Jaguar offense moved the ball inside the ten. However, the tables would turn as Will Witherspoon, fresh back from his injury, would intercept Henne's pass and return it 92-yards for the score. The two-point conversion would unfortunately fail, and the Titans would still be down by two with 2:22 left in the third quarter. The Titans would retake the lead with 7:08 remaining as Rob Birnoas hit his third field goal of the game, and the Titans were in the lead, 15-14. Maurice Jones-Drew would respond with his second score of the game and with 3:05 left, Jacksonville was back ahead by seven following the two-point conversion. Three plays into the Titans next drive, Locker found a wide open Kendall Wright for an 86-yard touchdown and the score was tied. Jacksonville would take the next possession and Scobee would hit the game winning score as time expired.
The Titans close the season 5-11, which isn't what many expected. However, nine of the eleven losses were by seven or less points. Even if half of those go the other way, the Titans find themselves with a winning season and potential playoff birth.
