Re: An Indomitable Will - The Life and Career of Anthony Swift

*The town is chomping at the bit for me to make a mistake today... I've heard that the recruits for CU are here to scout George, why wouldn't they be? He caught 9 passes and 2 TD's last week. Who knows where we would have been without him. Coach Johnson just had to tell me this, if I make a mistake I'm going to make George look bad. I need to clear this out of my head I don't...*

And Introducing Your Gunnison Cowboys!!!

*...have time for this...*

Monte Vista Pirates (0-1) visit the Gunnison Cowboys (1-0) this week!
Prediction: Monte Vista 33, Gunnison 10

Gunnison, Colorado --

Gunnison has done it again! With 2 consecutive victories this team has people changing their tune. In another upset special Gunnison came out on top of Monte Vista 31-3. QB Anthony Swift managed to avoid making mistakes and it led to an easy day for this Cowboys Defense.

Anthony Swift splits the defense for 20 yards on route to his first rushing TD

2 Star Recruit at Quarterback
31/36, 508 Yards, 4 TD, 1 INT
25 Rushing Attempts, 179 Yards, 1 TD

1 Star Recruit at Strong Safety

Thanks man I appreciate it. I borrowed a bit of format from you but I'm doing my best to run this story in its own unique way.

Re: An Indomitable Will - The Life and Career of Anthony Swift

Coach Johnson: "Hey Swift! Get over here!"

Anthony Swift: "Moving Coach! What's up?"

Coach Johnson: "There is someone here I would like you to meet."

Mike Aston: "Hello Anthony, my name is Mike Aston. I am the recruiter for the University of Colorado Boulder and I would just like to say how impressed I have been with you the past 2 games."

Anthony: "Wow, thank you sir. That means a lot."

Aston: "Now look Anthony I can't put anything on the table but I wanted to formally tell you about CU's interest in you. I think you are capable of running a strong offense if you should decide to play college ball."

Anthony: "Sir, I haven't given it much thought. At the moment I think I am just trying to figure out who I am as a player."

Aston: "Well, from my stand point you already have. CU will be in touch."

*Did that really just happen? Could the mediocre quarterback who managed to not make any mistakes really play college ball? (Yeah, that's right Gunnison, I read the paper.)*

Re: An Indomitable Will - The Life and Career of Anthony Swift

Anthony Swift: "Thanks for the dinner Coach!"

*The inaugural dinner is something I have always hated to attend. Coach Johnson is a great guy, but his wife drives me crazy with her fussing. On top of that, I'm not that close with this team except for a couple players like Chris Upton and Ethan Hawk.*

Chris: "Hey Anthony man, wait up! We need to talk."

Anthony: "What's up man, I really need to get home and sleep. We have to drive all the way to Coal Ridge tomorrow."

Chris: "Listen man, I know you have heard the rumors about the boosters. I just want you to know I have your back. Your our starter man, no matter what happens I won't let them replace you."

Anthony: "I appreciate that. It's not the boosters that are getting to me though, it's the idea of Coach Johnson who has known me for 4 years benching me when it's finally my turn. Let's just worry about the Titans, this whole will I play - won't I play is exhausting me."

Gunnison Cowboys (2-0) visit the Coal Ridge Titans (2-0) this week!
Prediction: Coal Ridge 24, Gunnison 21

Re: An Indomitable Will - The Life and Career of Anthony Swift

Coal Ridge, Colorado--

Gunnison brings the 2-0 Titans to a halt 24-3. Gunnison's defense this season has been phenomenal. With stand out play by the corners they have been able to easily win games despite the play of quarterback Anthony Swift. Swift continues to get the completion percentage but fails to capitalize. Today he threw for 13/15, 215 yards, 1 TD and managed to scamper for 62 yards and a TD as well. If it weren't for his legs who knows what kind of trouble these boys would be in....

Anthony Swift heaves a Hail Mary that is tipped and then hauled in by George Sarria.

3 Star Recruit at Quarterback
44/51, 723 Yards, 5 TD, 1 INT
40 Rushing Attempts, 241 Yards, 2 TD

2 Star Recruit at Strong Safety
11 Total Tackles, 2 TFL

Anthony Swift moves to number 149 In the ESPNU 150 Rankings

Teams interested in Anthony Swift
QB:
CU, Arizona State, Nevada, Utah
SS: CU, Wyoming, Utah State
