Sturgis Kicks Dolphins Past Browns

Dolphin's kicker Caleb Sturgis kicks though the game winner.

New Owner Peoples Champ could only hang his head as Caleb Sturgis lined up for his fourth fieldgoal try of the game.

Peoples Champ-"He was so close, it was going to take a miracle for him to miss it."

Sturgis didn't miss it, giving the Dolphins the lead with 29 seconds left in the game to give the Dolphins the win over the Browns. Tannehill set up the fieldgoal nicely, hitting receiver Mike Wallace down the sideline for a 70 yard gain. The game was all about Wallace and cornerback Joe Haden going at eachother. Wallace got the first blow in when he leapt over Haden to snare in a 40 yard reception early in the second quarter. Haden fired back on the Dolphins next drive, intercepting a pass from Tannehill and returning it 34 yards for the go ahead touchdown to give the Browns a 10-7 lead. Later in the 3rd with the game tied 10-10, runningback Lamar Miller fumbled the football after a hard hit from strong safety T.J. Ward. Linebacker Paul Kruger recovered it which set up quarterback Brandon Weeden's first touchdown pass of the year, a 13 yarder to tight end Marqueis Gray. This would be the last score for the Browns, as the ultra conservative offense could not move the football. They finished with 188 total yards and 1/13 on third down. The Dolphins on the other hand, had three straight scoring drives in the fourth to finish the game off, despite being -2 in turnovers.

Coach Rob Chudzinski-"Obviously if you cannot convert third downs, you are going to be in trouble. Doesn't matter what the turnover differential is."

Safety T.J. Ward blows up Lamar Miller.

Ryan Tannehill.....Joe Haden says thank you.

Very tough. Seemed like on every 3rd down the receivers would be locked down and Weeden would take a sack. Thanks for following.
