Coming into the league as an upstart owner is difficult. Especially when you take over a team that is as storied as the Oakland Raiders. I come in having been a Lifelong Fan of the franchise. I plan on using my position in the franchise to move the team into a bigger market with a better personality for a fanbase; I love our fans and how intense they are but the market of Oakland is not big enough for what my plans are for this team.

Being an owner and having a voice in how the team's depth chart will work, I will have to pay attention to a few key position battles in my first year. For QB we have the speedy but terrible passer in Terrelle Pryor versus the unknown rookie pocket presence of Matt McGloin. One thing I will not stand for is terrible QB play. Terrelle Pryor will have the starting job throughout the preseason, and if he can deliver some decent numbers he will hold that position, otherwise it's onto the Trading Block for him, and I will give the rookie Matt McGloin a shot at the starting job. The other position battle we have going on is for Running Back: between the oft-injured Darren McFadden versus the starving for a chance Rashad Jennings.

Coaching Style

Offensive Playbook:
Scattergun (Custom Playbook**)
Defensive Playbook: Pittsburgh Steelers (3-4)

Dennis Allen may have his approach for offense and defense, but I am going to throw out his playbooks and inject my offensive approach; a mix of Read-Option and a massive array of Shotgun sets ranging from 2 to 5 WR sets. This benefits any type of Quarterback we may have playing as if Terrelle Pryor is playing we can use the runs and the Read Options more than the passes, but if we end up playing Matt McGloin we will use the Shotgun passes more.

My defensive approach is now changed from a 4-3 to a 3-4, using Mike Tomlin's playbook. I am changing the defense to be an aggressive Rush approach while running zone defense 80% of the time to cover the pass. Most of my corners are good (or at least better than man-to-man) and are quick with acceleration and agility. Also I will run some blitz packages, but mostly my linebackers will be running zone as well.

** If you'd like to try out my playbook, please look it up on the Xbox One **
** Shared Files area under "Scattergun" under the gamertag **

Pre-Season

Just to clarify, I do not play the pre-season games. The only change I made was I switched Lamarr Houston from Right End to a Left End and vice versa with Jack Crawford - the only reason for this was personal preference as I am much better using the Left End.

Media Question 1: "Having been a fan of this team your entire life, there's some concern that you might be too emotional or too involved to let your football people do their jobs. How do you respond?"

Response: "I'm always going to be a fan first, and so that means I'm always going to be looking out for the fans here because I know what they want"

  • Ticket Prices: Per Winning Season +10% | Per Losing Season -15%
In Week 3 of the Pre-Season I began the Relocation Process and took the Raiders and changed them to the Mexico City Diablos. I chose Mexico City to get the international aspect of the NFL rolling and I love that they want this team there, 90% Fan Interest and a Hardcore fan personality? Cannot have a better mix.

Media Question 2: "You're officially moving this franchise after the season, but why do you assume you'll be more successful there than here?"

Response: "I get many of our fans are upset, but long term this move allows us to bring in a while new generation of fans."
  • Team Popularity: Per Win in New City +2% | Per Loss in New City -5%

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Week 1

Owner's Corner:
(this is where I will talk about different things about the team like Draft Classes, who I am looking at for the draft, Trading Block issues, Team Re-signings, and some of my own personal notes about things happening with the team)
  • This is my unveiling of my new playbook and play style, sorry Dennis Allen but your playbook sucks and I am injecting a new Pass Heavy offense into this franchise, and changing the Defense from the classic 4-3 to a better 3-4 Defense.

This was an atrocious way to start off the season.. I think I may be sick

The Offense... was a complete joke today. I couldn't get ANYTHING going except for Darren McFadden was the lone bright spot with a very shifty Marcel Reece today for this team. Terrelle Pryor was absolutely garbage in his time today, he couldn't get a positive run today on the Read Options and threw 4 of the ugliest interceptions I have ever seen. Antoine Bethea is already having a career year because of this game, alone. I actually took out Pryor after he fumbled a ball in the 4th and Matt McGloin was not much better. I will be starting Pryor again next week but my god is he on a short leash.

The Defense was actually quite impressive. I was very happy with the pass coverage, although we did only bat down 4 of Andrew Lucks passes. Our Rush D was impressive on every play but Ahmad Bradshaw's big TD run in the 1st; take that run away however and you have a guy that only rushed for 16 yards on 14 carries. Our front seven did a phenomenal job at getting in the backfield and wreaking havoc on Andrew Luck racking up 4 sacks on the day, 2 for Nick Roach.

Next week better be a BIG turnaround or I am not going to be pleased and there will be people packing their bags by Week 3.

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Week 2

Player Performance Rankings
  • T. Pryor: 196 Passing Yards – 15th in NFL
  • D. McFadden: 88 Rushing Yards – 18th in NFL
  • N. Roach: 2 Sacks – 2nd in NFL
  • L. Houston:1 Sack – 10th in NFL
Team Performance Rankings
  • Raiders Offensive Rank: 23

    • Pass: 16th – 198 Total Passing Yards
    • Rush: 26th – 84 Total Rushing Yards

  • Raiders Defensive Rank: 5

    • Pass: 12th – 171 Total Passing Yards Allowed
    • Rush: 5th – 81 Total Rushing Yards Allowed

Draft Stories:
Team Needs: QB, WR, TE, RG, RT, RE, MLB, CB, FS

  • Giant at TE: Memphis TE Kevin Bobak is a gigantic tight end with surprisingly light feet. Can he win tight end of the year?
    • "Just stood next to Kevin Bobak. I now understand my physical limitations. #humbling” – Ross Tucker

  • Can’t Touch This: Big opening game vs Virginia for BYU HB Albus Barbados who impresses by averaging 8 yards per run. "Keep a close eye on Albus Barbados
    • it’s as tricky to tackle him as it is to spell his name right on consecutive tries.” – Ross Tucker
Owners Corner:
  • Scouting:Kevin Bobak is a nice looking prospect for Tight End. Hopefully his hands are as good as his feet… I will be fully scouting him throughout the season.Albus Barbados looks like a good pick at half-back, but HB really is not a priority for me, so for now I will leave him alone, maybe scouting one or two attributes total. One position I need to begin looking at is Quarterback. The #1 Overall prospect is a QB named Dane Honani out of Central Michigan. I will be scouting him lightly but if his numbers turn up to be good, I am going to turn up the heat.
  • Relocation Process:
    • Team Name: I went with the Diablos; which was tied for 2nd in the fan poll, but fans were not too upset about the decision (it was a close call, Diablos (30%), Conquistadors (30%), and Golden Eagles (40%)). I would have of course went with the Golden Eagles to get the full fan support, but honestly the color scheme of that team is UGLY; Red, Green, White? I’m ok without getting laughed off the field.

    • Uniform: I went with Traditional Uniforms. It was the highest for the fan voting, and while I do enjoy the tops for the uni’s that I chose, I wish I could switch the pants to black, but honestly, the uniforms look great.

    • Stadium: I went with the Basic Futuristic stadium. I think it looks the best, and I would have chosen the Deluxe version but I welcome the challenge of upgrading the stadium as I go along. Plus, the fact that the Futuristic design blows every other design out of the water with Seating Capacity doesn’t hurt one bit.

  • Depth Chart Changes: I need to change up my depth chart for my Running Back situation. One of my biggest fears is overworking DMC and him getting hurt again, so I moved Marcel Reece up to the starting 3rd Down Back. This should give DMC enough time to regain his stamina before he gets hurt and misses significant time again.

  • Quarterback Situation: Both QB’s did absolutely awful last week. Pryor is my starter for this week, but he is on a very short leash; he needs to get the Read Option going too. If he cannot get the ball moving in the right direction through the air or ground, he will be on a plane heading to a different team by next week.

  • Running Back Situation: This is a contract year for all of my Running Backs; and while I still love him I am losing faith in Darren McFadden’s ability to stay healthy throughout the entire season. He has SO MUCH TALENT for a Running Back, but he is cursed with getting hurt at the drop of a hat. If he gets hurt for an extended period of time I will not be sending him an offer. Rashad Jennings needs to get a few more looks so I can determine just how valuable he is.

This was a tough game, every player fought tough throughout the game. The offense performed much better this time around, and Terrelle Pryor definitely cleaned up his act from that horrible first game. He still had 3 Interceptions, but one of which was not his fault and was complete luck, which was the big CJ Wilson, yeah the Defensive Tackle, INT Return for a TD. It seems even though I want to go pass heavy the run game is the more effective approach; so for right now I am going to play a Run-First approach with passing over the top when the defense falls for the play action. Terrelle Pryor gets another day starting at QB.

The Defense was absolutely amazing today. We held Chad Henne to under 200 yards of passing offense and held Maurice Jones-Drew to just over 50 yards. However, he did bust off a long run of 32 yards, so once again – take away one big run and you have an absolute iron-wall performance. The one gripe I have about our defense is that we still have not recorded a turnover; we need to start grabbing interceptions instead of knocking down passes in order for us to take these games easily.

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Week 3

Player Performance Rankings

  • T. Pryor: 368 Passing Yards – 21st in NFL
  • D. McFadden: 180 Rushing Yards – 14th in NFL
  • N. Roach: 4 Sacks – 2nd in NFL
  • L. Houston:2 Sacks – 8th in NFL

Team Performance Rankings
  • Raiders Offensive Rank: 15

    • Pass: 23rd – 370 Total Passing Yards
    • Rush: 9th – 291 Total Rushing Yards

  • Raiders Defensive Rank: 2

    • Pass: 5th – 321 Total Passing Yards Allowed
    • Rush: 2nd – 145 Total Rushing Yards Allowed

Draft Stories:
Team Needs: QB, WR, TE, RG, RT, RE, MLB, CB, FS

  • Rush Crush:Arizona DE Mash Johnson crushes Colorado State QB, sacks him 3 times.

    • “All the hype around Boris Kozlov is just that: hype. Mash Johnson’s 10 times the player.” – Susannah Collins
  • Out of the Ring, Onto the Gridiron: UNLV WR Ramon Bautista was an up and coming boxer who transitioned to the football field.

    • “Boxer-turned-wide receiver? With his ability to fight past DB’s, maybe Ramon Bautista’s on to something.” – Ross Tucker

Owners Corner:
  • Injury: Unfortunately I suffered my first major injury of the season last week. Sio Moore my up-and-coming OLB fractured his forearm late in the game last week against Jacksonville, and will miss 5 weeks. This really hurts but I will have Miles Burris playing in his place.
  • Roster Changes:
  • Drops: I had to drop Tracy Porter (CB – 74 OVR) to improve our Pass Defense, hopefully with my signing we will see an immediate change in our turnovers.

  • Adds: I signed Antoine Winfield (CB – 86 OVR). While he is 36 years old and definitely the oldest of the available Free Agent corners; there is no denying his zone coverage skills.
  • Depth Chart Changes: New Raider Antoine Winfield (CB) is now the #1 CB listed, and I moved Mike Jenkins down to #3 as D.J. Hayden has actually been giving up less than Jenkins.
  • Scouting: Dane Honani (QB - #1 OVR) is clearly worth the #1 tag, his attributes on the first scouting are amazing, while his overall awareness is only a C, his power is an A, and his individual accuracies are quite good for a QB, B (A / B / B) so I will be shooting for him in the draft. I need to get that #1 pick though.

Today was a very close battle between one of the best teams in the NFL. I actually am extremely happy with how the Raiders played today, and only thanks to ONE mistake, we lost this game.

The offense was very impressive today, in the rushing attack. Run DMC had another great game, averaging 4.5 yards on 15 carries. Marcel Reece also turned in a great game, while he didn't have a large amount of yardage he busted up the line for 4 first downs, but also stumbled down for 40+ yards on only 9 carries. Terrelle Pryor was once again looking rough passing the ball; but did have some pretty passes amidst his 1:2 ratio. I think I am going to start shopping him around and start to use Matt McGloin as my starter.

The defense was actually quite great today. Once again the Rush D was an iron curtain, maybe I need to increase the CPU Rush Block to 99 to get more of a challenge, but Nick Roach was amazing today and racking up 9 tackles and wrapping up 2 tackles for loss including another sack adding to his team-leading 5 sacks. Lamarr Houston also added another sack today bringing up his total to 3 on the year. We were facing Peyton Manning so I wasn't expecting us to continue our torrid streak of holding QBs under 200 yards; and his precision is just disgusting. The one mistake I was talking about before was when we were holding the lead at 20-14, Peyton Manning fired a deep pass to Eric Decker in the endzone and thanks to my 'Y' button not working it went from easy interception to easy-looking TD grab. I thought I could bring the ball back down field, and on that final drive I did get 2 straight passes for 47 yards and a couple rushes for positive yardage, but forcing a pass to Andre Holmes cost me the game with 30 seconds left as Danny Trevathan came away with the game-saving INT.

What a game..

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Week 4

*****Slider Changes******
Like I said in the wrap-up of the Broncos game, I need to have more of a challenge defending the run. The Raiders Rush Defense is good, but it's not 1st place by a large margin good. I increased the CPU Rush Blocking from 88 to 100, just to see how good the CPU blocking can be

Draft Stories:
Team Needs: QB, WR, TE, RG, RT, RE, MLB, CB, FS

  • TE Plays Like OT: Memphis TE Kevin Bobak has several key pancake blocks vs Arkansas State.

    • “Kevin Bobak is OT-sized, but catches passes way, way better than I ever could.” – Susannah Collins.

  • By Ground and By Air: BYU HB Albus Barbados takes screen pass 62 yards for TD, sneaks past DB’s on wheel route for another 84 yard TD catch.

    • “Umm, BYU just beat top-seeded Texas. The reason why? They couldn’t contain HB (WR?) Albus Barbados.” – Susannah Collins.

Owners Corner:

I had to pull the trigger on Terrelle Pryor, otherwise I was going to continue circling the drain of turnovers and I need to start really injecting my new approach to offense successfully; and I think a more pocket-based QB is exactly what we need.

  • Trade:
    • Raiders Give: Terrelle Pryor (QB – 74 OVR) and 2015 2nd Round Pick
    • Jaguars Give: 2014 1st Round and 4th Round Picks
  • Roster Additions: I had to sign a backup QB to replace Terrelle Pryor. So I needed to add David Carr (QB – 74 OVR).
  • Scouting: After that raving review from this last game I may need to pay more attention to Albus Barbados as a receiving RB. I have Marcel Reece as a receiving back, but it would be nice to have a more consistent set of hands out of the backfield than Darren McFadden, especially if he can stay healthy.

It's Matt McGloin's first game starting under center. I need to be more composed in the pocket and find my targets better. This is the time to start really bringing in the changing tide for the Raiders approach to offense.

This.. This was the game I was looking for. An absolute display of what the Raiders can bring if we were to become a Pass First team. I really was shocked with the end result but my god, Matt McGloin made the Redskins look like Swiss cheese, it was quite a joy to watch him from the box today.

The Pass Attack in general featured a lot of players that hadn't gotten their shot in a game yet this season thanks to constant turnovers, not having the ball, and running the ball better than passing it. Rod Streater finally showed up nabbing a game-high 7 receptions for 92 yards and his first score of the year. Denarius Moore also had a killer game yardage-wise and continues to be my main man for passing plays. I could honestly go down the list as to why everyone who had a reception did great today, but we will see next week who really sticks in as the best receivers. The Running Game didn't even need to be there but Darren McFadden once again had a stellar game, averaging over 5 yards a carry on 15 carries but did not find the end zone on the ground; however waltzed with brilliant footwork after nabbing a screen pass in the 1st quarter.

The Defense was incredible against the Pass today, and like I said Antoine Winfield would be a direct catalyst to us getting Interceptions; the week we sign him we nab our first 2! Coincidence? I think not. The Rush D FINALLY got beat; and god did they get beat bad. Giving up 126 Yards on just 9 carries against starter Alfred Morris is embarrassing but it needed to happen so I could see where we were at. The huge numbers were absolutely due to the slider change I made before the game, but I will talk about this more in next week's post.

Re: A New Owner.. Raiders become Diablos (XBone|M25)

Week 5

*****Slider Changes******
Well last week's declaration of raising the CPU Rush Blocking to 100 was clearly an overstep toward that perfect middle ground I am looking for. The first number was 88 and it was clearly way too easy to keep the rushing attack in check. However, raising the slider to 100 was just too difficult to manage, Alfred Morris at one point was averaging 29 yards a carry. I lowered the number to 94 - it's directly between where I began and last week.

Player Performance Rankings

  • Raiders Defensive Rank: 6 - 1,121 yards of Total Yards Allowed

    • Pass: 13th – 788 Total Passing Yards Allowed
    • Rush: 3rd – 333 Total Rushing Yards Allowed

Draft Stories:
Team Needs: QB, WR, TE, RG, RT, RE, MLB, CB, FS

  • Butter Fingered: UNLV WR Ramon Bautista shows amazing release off the line unable, but struggles to hold on to the ball with 2 drops and a fumble.

    • "My picture was kind of fuzzy. Was Ramon Bautista still wearing gloves? Would account for the fumbles." - Susannah Collins.

Well this was an amazing game! A come-from-behind win for the Raiders against our in-state division rival nonetheless.

The Offense today started off very sluggish, but improved so drastically after the half that it erases all the bad that happened pre-break. Matt McGloin was very good albeit throwing 3 Interceptions. The change to a pass heavy attack is clearly the right call as our offensive numbers have absolutely skyrocketed. Today the big hero was Darren McFadden. He is definitely my early season MVP for the team; while he gets a much smaller load of carries he still manages to rack up huge averages and catches some major passes out of the Screens that I call. The running game couldn't get much going outside of DMC, but Marcel Reece once again stumbled across for 4 first downs himself.

The Defense was great too. The slider change looks pretty good. While I was giving up quite a few short runs Danny Woodhead was able to break off some decent runs. I will try it again for the next week and see if the stats live up to this games. We did not sack Phillip Rivers as much as I would have liked, but we definitely had him pressured throughout the game; and we also got another Interception! The zone coverage is working quite well; not to keep the ball out of the receivers hands, but to keep the play from breaking off into a long run.

All in All it was a great game. Fantastic job.

What city are you moving to?

Oh Im sorry it was never supposed to be a secret! The Diablos are a Mexico City team.. I decided to make the move there because while I do like the thought of moving the Raiders back to LA and bring the namesake with me, I don't like that LA has Fair-Weather (I'm pretty sure they are Fair-Weather) fans so I moved to Mexico City where they have the highest Fan Interest and the Hardcore fans that I desire!

Sorry for the confusion
