Lincoln, Nebraska -
Texas Tech dominated from the opening whistle on both sides of the ball. The
Red Raiders fast start clearly shell shocked the Huskers, as they were unable to respond with any points while Texas Tech put up 21 of their own.
The
Red Raiders came out on fire to start the game as Davis Webb connected on his first 17 passes before finishing the game completing a career high 83% of his attempts. Deandre Washington was able to pick up his 1st Touchdown of the 2013 Season when he rushed in from 22 yards out. Also adding 2 Touchdowns in the 1st Quarter was Reginald Davis who was able to get behind the secondary from 12 yards and 3 yards out.
Heading into the second quarter, the Red Raiders were already up 21 points before the Huskers realized what had happened. Texas Tech's momentum continued with their first drive of the second quarter where Davis Webb, who finished as the Player of the Game with 5 Touchdowns in the game, connected with Devin Lauderdale from 34 yards out. Bo Pelini decided to change his tactics after getting down 28 points, and went towards a more pro-style formation with 2 backs away from their 3 receiver formation. Imani Cross finally started to be able to run behind his pads and was able to score his first Touchdown of the 2013 season from 11 yards out.

Webb Continued his mastery of the Blackshirts into the third quarter when he was able to find Jakeem Grant, who once he was behind the defense knew he was going to win a foot race, was able to get open long enough to make Corner Daniel Davie miss and it was off to the races. Nebraska was able to respond with a Touchdown from Fullback Andy Janovich late in the quarter, but it was too little to late. Widening the margin of victory, Quinton White also joined into the scoring fest as he was able to explode into the endzone from 4 yards out in the 4th quarter.
The Red Raider defense played more like the Famed Blackshirts than the Huskers did, as Micah Awe and Donte Phillips each sacked Tommy Armstrong Jr twice and Branden Jackson added another for a combined five sacks total.
