Tennessee got on the score board first in this game as True Freshman HB Daniel Cunningham scored from 4 yards out on the handoff up the middle and scored easily. Oklahoma responded with a TD of their own as QB Trevor Knight hit Trey Metoyer on a 17 yard pass as Metoyer was wide open on the perfectly run Comeback route. Metoyer had a HUGE game as he caught 9 pass from 199 yards with 1 TD.

Oklahoma struck first in the 2nd quarter as HB Aaron Ross scored from 5 yards out on the handoff going to his right and was tackled forward into the endzone. Tennessee responded with a TD of their own as new starting QB Joshua Dobbs threw a bullet to WR Josh Smith who was wide open over the middle of the endzone and Smith scored easily. Then, with just 23 seconds left in the 1st half, Tennessee Sophomore Kicker Blake Brewster made a 23 yard FG from the left hash mark to give the Vols a 17-14 lead going into halftime.

Oklahoma scored on their first possession of the 2nd half as HB Aaron Ross scored his 2nd TD of the game, this time on an 8 yard run. Tennessee would respond with just 6 seconds left in the 3rd quarter as Joshua Dobbs threw a 2 yard fade pass to 6'5" WR Jason Croom who made a great catch in the back left corner of the endzone to give Tennessee the 24-21 lead going into the 4th quarter.

On the 1st play of the 4th quarter, Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight was picked off by Tennessee CB Cam Sutton and the Vols would capitalize. After Oklahoma forced a 3 and out, Sophomore Kicker Blake Brewster nailed a 50 yard FG to put Tennessee up by 6. Oklahoma responded quickly with a TD as HB Aaron Ross scored his 3rd TD of the game on a 4 yard run to put the Sooners up by 1. Then, Joshua Dobbs made a bad mistake trying to throw to TE Jeff Zeigler in the middle of the field and was intercepted by Oklahoma MLB Frank Shannon who returned it 26 yards for a TD to give Oklahoma a 35-27 lead with 2:27 left in the game. Tennessee responded in quickly in a BIG way as Joshua Dobbs threw a bomb to star WR Marquez North who left everyone in the dust as he scored from 71 yards out. Tennessee however would go for 2 and the Dobbs pass attempt was batted down. Oklahoma would recover the onside kick and would run the clock out to seal the victory.

Tennessee jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead in this one. The first points on the board was a 27 yard FG by Sophomore Kicker Blake Brewster as he made the short field goal with ease as the ball was in the middle of the field. Then, Joshua Dobbs dumped off a short pass to Pig Howard as no one covered him. Howard was wide open in the front right corner of the endzone for the easy 1 yard TD catch.

However, LSU dominated in the 2nd quarter. After an interception return to the 10 yard line, 2 plays later the Tigers were in the endzone for their first score of the game as HB Terrence Magee ran the ball straight through the heart of the Tennessee defense for the 5 yard TD run. Then, the final score of the first half LSU QB Stephen Rivers threw an 11 yard bullet to WR Travin Dural to put the Tigers up 14-10 going into halftime.

No one would score in the 3rd quarter... But, the Tigers would score on the first play of the 4th quarter as Stephen Rivers dumped off a pass to TE Logan Stokes who broke a tackle at the 2 yard line then jogged in for the 6 yard TD... But, True Freshman Kicker Robert Franklin seemed rattled in his first road game and he missed the PAT. Along with a missed PAT, Franklin also missed both Field Goal attempts in the game. So, LSU was up 20-10. But, Tennessee would respond fast as HB Mike Cummings would score on the 9 yard TD catch off of the HB Screen to make it a 3 point game. And with 1:02 left in the 4th quarter, Sophomore Kicker Blake Brewster made a 32 yard Field Goal from the right hash mark to tie the game at 20-20... And for the first time in Butch Jones' tenure at Tennessee, the Volunteers were headed to Overtime.

LSU got the ball first and scored on the 2nd play as Terrence Magee scored on a 14 yard run thanks to a HUGE hole made by OL Vadal Alexander. Tennessee responded on their next possession, but it was a close one... Tennessee had a 4th and goal on the 1 yard line and called an HB pitch. Mike Cummings sprinted to his right and dove for the corner of the endzone and barely got in to tie the game.

LSU scored on their next possession on a 3 yard run by HB Terrence Magee. This was Magee's 3rd rushing TD of the game. But, LSU would end the game 2 plays later as Tennessee QB Joshua Dobbs' pass was intercepted by CB Tre'Davious White and that would seal the deal for the Tigers. And for the 2nd straight week, Tennessee would lose a heartbreaker at home.

Tennessee bounced back in a BIG way after 2 tough losses at home. The Vols scored the first 24 points of the game. Both scores of the 1st quarter were thanks to great drives led by Redshirt Sophomore QB Joshua Dobbs and both were capped off by HB Mike Cummings TD runs. The first was a 7 yard run on the read option hand off. The second was a 5 yard run right up the middle, Cummings shed a would be tackler, and dove into the endzone before he could get tackled.

The second quarter began with a 42 yard FG by Tennessee Sophomore Kicker Blake Brewster from the right has mark. After that the Vols took advantage of a LaDarrell McNeil interception as HB Mike Cummings scored his 3rd TD of the first half on a 12 yard HB Counter run. This would put the Vols up 24-0. Florida would finally get on the score board with 1:47 left in the 1st half as Kicker Austin Hardin made a 48 yard field goal which looked like it could've been good from 58 yards out. So, going into halftime Tennessee led the #16 Gators 24-3.

Tennessee would then score the first the first 10 points of the second half... All in the 3rd quarter. Kicker Blake Brewster put the first points on the scoreboard as he nailed his 2nd Field Goal of the game, but this time it was from 35 yards out. The final score from the Vols came on a 36 yard pass from Joshua Dobbs to Marquez North for the TD. North got behind Florida CB Vernon Hargreaves... And if Marquez North gets behind you, you're not catching him. North scored easily on the perfectly placed pass from Dobbs to put the Vols up 34-3 going into the 4th quarter.

Florida's Redshirt Freshman QB D.J. East (6'5" 250 lbs, with 90 speed) was injured on a sack from Tennessee OLB Jalen Reeves-Maybin and backup Florida QB Skyler Morhinweg's only pass went to speedy WR Alvin Bailey for a 15 yard pass and catch. So, Tennessee upset the Gators in convincing fashion by beating the Gators 34-10 in the swamp.

Tennessee scored the first points of the game on a 2 yard slant pass from QB Joshua Dobbs to WR Josh Smith (who is from Knoxville, TN) to give the Vols the early lead. But, North Texas would respond on their next possession with a TD of their own as HB Antoine Jimmerson took the handoff, broke a would be tackle, and scored from 4 yards out to tie the game at 7 a piece.

Tennessee would then score 14 unanswered points. The first TD was from True Freshman HB Daniel Cunningham as he took the handoff and burst into the endzone for the 1 yard score... Man this kid is fast! Tennessee's final TD of the 2nd quarter was on a 12 yard comeback route as Joshua Dobbs found big 6'5" WR Jason Croom wide open in the left front corner of the endzone. This score put the Vols up 21-7. But, back come the Mean Green. They scored with a little less than a minute left in the half as 2nd string HB Eric Evans took the HB Screen 36 yards for the TD. Tennessee came with the Engage Eight blitz and a key block on Tennessee CB Cameron Sutton is what let Eric Evans break away for the TD. So, going into halftime the score was 21-14 Tennessee.

North Texas scored on their first possession of the 2nd half as backup QB DaJon Williams entered the game since starting QB Brock Berglund was knocked out of the game with a Concussion. Williams dumped the ball off to HB Antoine Jimmerson as a last resort and Jimmerson broke 2 tackles and then was tackled forward into the endzone for the 25 yard score. But, that would be the final North Texas TD of the game. Tennessee took the lead back on their next possession as Sophomore Kicker Blake Brewster made the chip shot, 21 yard FG to give the Vols the 3 point lead. Then, Tennessee QB Joshua Dobbs put the game away in the 4th quarter by keeping the read option handoff and sprinting 7 yards into the endzone. So, Tennessee wins a close one in Knoxville by the final score of 31-21.
