Game Notes
Arkansas State is playing it's third straight home game this season, and looking for their third straight win. Meanwhile, LA Tech will be searching for their first victory of the season after starting out 0-3.
The Red Wolves scored 31 unanswered last week against Memphis and will look to continue their offensive dominance this week against LA Tech, who have allowed 433 ypg average through 3 games.
If Arkansas State can shut down the Bulldogs rushing attack with Kenneth Dixon, they should be in a favorable position to win their third of the season.
This will be the first meeting of these two teams since 1998, where LA Tech won 69-21. This rivalry dates back to the first year they met in 1958.
LA Tech leads the all time series 26-12.

Re: The Depths of Howl - Arkansas State NCAA 14 Dynasty
Driskel & Bulldogs come up big in Jonesboro
Arkansas State looking for their third straight home win hosted winless LA Tech to renew an old time rivalry. The Red Wolves would receive the kick to start the game, and would drive the field until a Fredi Knighten interception would end their drive. The Bulldogs would make a 3 play 77 yard drive end with K. Dixon's first of two rushing touchdowns on a 58 yard score. Arkansas State would score on their next drive when Fredi Knighten would find Tres Houston for six from eight yards out. The Bulldogs would set up for a long field goal attempt and miss to end the first quarter giving the Red Wolves the ball back.
The first play of the second quarter, Knighten would throw his second interception of the night to A. Barnes, who would return it 83 yards for the Bulldogs lead. After a couple 3 and outs for both teams, J. Driskel would find a huge hole, with help from blocking to score on a 72 yard rush. After another missed field goal from the Bulldogs, Arkansas State would set up to trail by 7 at the half, after Warren Wand would score from 1 yard out.
The Bulldogs didn't take long to score in the second half, scoring just 30 seconds in with a Driskel to T. Taylor pass. Arkansas State would move the ball on their next drive to the 23 yard line before JD McKissic would drop a pass that would be intercepted by X. Woods in the endzone. LA Tech would score off the turnover on a 14 yard pass from Driskel to J. Gaston.
Arkansas State would find a way to overcome their struggles and get Michael Gordon to punch one in from 1 yard out on the next drive. The Bulldogs were not going to let Arkansas State get back into the game, giving them the ball back, but just moments later C. Cleveland would get his 2nd interception of the evening. K. Dixon would find his 2nd rushing touchdown of the night off this turnover. The Red Wolves gave up 14 more unanswered points after that to seal up the game for the Bulldogs. Arkansas State would find the endzone one more time with 2:36 remaining on a Knighten to Gordon touchdown pass.
The Red Wolves could not overcome the strong rushing attack or the ball hawking defense of Louisiana Tech, and will fall to 2-3 on the season. Arkansas State will be on a bye next week, before travelling to Idaho to resume Sun Belt conference action.
